A New Wii Console Experience:
According to Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, "Wii U redefines the structure of home entertainment by fundamentally changing how the TV, the game console and the Internet function and interact together", he continues, "The experience enabled by Wii U and its new controller takes players deeper into their games, while reaching out wider than ever before to be inviting to all kinds of gamers".
Wii U combines motion-sensing gameplay with the ability to support full HD graphics. Each Wii U console will be paired with a new groundbreaking controller, with its 6.2-inch wide screen. Previously, video games played on home consoles have been confined to the TV and offered identical viewpoints to each player in a multiplayer environment. The Wii U controller enhances that experience with different viewpoints available in-game and in differing games/game situations. Also, watching TV and playing console games have been completely separate experiences. The new controller removes these boundaries, creating a more dynamic and fluid gaming and entertainment experience.
Within Single Player Games:
While in-game, the new controller can display information on its screen that does not appear on the TV. The information and viewpoint can also change in the new controller based on the orientation of its gyroscope.
Within Multiplayer Games:
The player using the new controller can have a different experience than those looking at the TV creating a wider variety of competitive and cooperative opportunities.
The New Controller
In addition to its 6.2-inch screen, the new controller also features an accelerometer and a gyroscope, a rumble feature, an inward-facing camera, a microphone and speakers. Adding these features to the Classic Controller button scheme -- two analogue Circle Pads, +Control Pad, A/B/X/Y buttons, L/R buttons and ZL/ZR buttons -- will enable a breadth of gameplay experiences while appealing to both casual and dedicated video game players. The Wii U system can also use up to four additional Wii Remote or Wii Remote Plus controllers and is backward compatible to all Wii games and all Wii accessories. The Wii console has sold more than 86 million units globally and greatly expanded the overall audience for video games. Wii U aims to expand that audience even further.
New Super Mario Bros. U:
New Super Mario Bros. U is the highly inventive latest instalment in the legendary and iconic franchise that is Super Mario. Our favourite Italian is now here on Nintendo’s innovative home console the Wii U, offering a brand spanking new and wide range of gameplay with the use of the ingenious screened gamepad. Join Mario and friends once more, as you delve into his universe like never before.
This game is the direct sequel to Super Mario Bros. Wii, and gives you another side-scrolling adventure in the beloved Mushroom Kingdom, but gameplay has been overhauled in order to fully utilise the new options that the Wii U Gamepad has to offer, particularly the touch screen that measures over six inches long. Players can also play as their Mii characters alongside the iconic Mario, Luigi and Toads, and now have the option to socially connect with the Miiverse. When connected to the Nintendo Network, players can connect to the Miiverse and see other players’ accomplishments, comments, and feedback, as well as leave their own for others to see.
A brand new feature that has been introduced, amongst others, is the Boost Mode. This mode guarantees multiplayer fun, as another play can jump into the game using Boost Mode, and can create platforms out of thin air by touching the touch screen on the Gamepad, which dissipate when the player stands on them. These blocks can be used to either help or hinder Mario, as you can use the blocks to help the Wiimote-based players reach secret areas, escape enemies, make difficult jumps, and avoid falling to their deaths, or you could use the blocks to cause more chaos and your friends to lose a life. The Boost Mode also makes co-operative speed runs possible for those players that fancy themselves a challenge, in which they can use the Gamepad to interact with and manipulate objects in real time, meaning new ways to find the fastest routes through each level.
Another new feature in New Super Mario Bros. U is the Tiny Balloon Yoshi. Mario can carry the baby Yoshi in his arms, and then when the jump button is pressed whilst Mario is in mid air, Yoshi will inflate with air, allowing Mario to gain altitude on his jump. Repeatedly pressing the jump button allows more and more altitude to be gained until Yoshi grows tired and deflates, and Mario will float slowly and safely to the ground. Alongside this, there is also the Flying Squirrel Mario suit, which is a gliding suit that allows Mario to sweep through levels and cling to walls, as well as get a single boost of altitude when jumping before slowly floating him down to the ground.
The Wii U showcases innovative gameplay and features for a Nintendo classic, offering new possibilities to the classic Mario game. With new abilities that utilise the new Wii U Gamepad, as well as new social features, New Super Mario Bros. U amply displays just what Nintendo can do to improve a legendary game and give a glimpse of what to come in the future of Nintendo consoles and games.
New Super Luigi U:
It's-a-Luigi-Time!
The Year of Luigi-themed downloadable content for New Super Mario Bros. U offersplayers 82 updated courses and only 100 seconds to complete each one!
But it also includes a new playable character in multiplayer mode: Nabbit, who steals items from Toad Houses. Nabbit can't power up, but also won't take damage when he touches enemies.

Magnificent
A great console, with Brilliant multiplayer between me and my brothers. Mario bros u doesn't require use of the game pad if you have a wii remote. Great for stopping wear and tear for the Pad. The Pad is brilliant as a controller or mini screen if the tv is in use, making it a fantastic all round console. Good for multiplayer and browsing the web. I cannot fault this console it is brilliant , I have a Ps4 as well but they are both just as good and do near enough the same job. there is no difference besides menu's and specifications, however I cant see a problem with this. Overall my ps4 is on my small tv. but the wii u is centre of the living room on the big tv. need I say more! however If your a fan of multiplayer games on the same system, then this system is for you!

Amazing
The bundle is amazing. Since all Mario games are awesome, and this one especially, is so good. It just made me smile the whole way through, since it is such a user friendly. It gives the user maximum control and power, over the character which allows you to play as Mario.

Wii U Console: 32GB Premium Bundle - Black (Includes New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi Bros. U)
It's not a surprise that Nintendo products do not disappoint. Their latest entry as a home entertainment system holds strong to that rule by bringing to us, the customers, a unique and diverse gaming experience. The first thing I noticed as my Wii U Console: 32GB Premium Bundle arrived was that the packaging of this version looks really good! The box has a Super Mario bros. theme all around and it looks very vibrant and colorful, luxurious even, and it makes me feel good by simply looking at it! Inside the box there are the console itself, the gamepad, and hdmi cable, a power cable for the console,a power cable for the gamepad, a wii remote sensor, two leg stands for the console (that I do not use), a power stand for the gamepad, a regular stand for the gamepad and the New Super Mario Bros. game pack itself. To my taste the console looks very good with round edges and no unnecessary design choices. I like it lying flat next to my tv because it is barely noticeable like so. The other part of it, the gamepad, looks quite the opposite! It actually looks as if it is the console itself. It is big, really big, but as you hold it feels light. It has been cleverly designed so that one's thumbs would lie exactly on the sticks and their point fingers right on the ZL and ZR shoulder buttons. The build is solid and it does not feel plasticky at all. Overall the build quality is great as expected. After everything got connected, it was finally time for the first start-up. What I had to do first was to choose upon a few settings and make a Mii. That is your virtual self in the Mii Verse, a virtual plaza and forums for all the Wii U games. Every time you start your Wii U, a plaza with some of the "hot" games for the week will appear with different Miis sharing their thoughts and experiences with the games. I've had tons of fun with the Mii Verse itself, it can be a very rewarding experience and is implemented in some of the games themselves. It's something like a virtual social network game based around your favourite games, simply amazing! The Wii U itself has a feature to auto-update itself when it finds internet so that even when you're offline you feel as if your console is connected! Once you get to the games part you need to remember that there are a few updates that you need to do. If your console is not connected to the internet that should be fine, but Nintendo strongly suggests that you always keep your system up to date so that you can make the most out of it. For example with one of the updates they made the loading times of the games dramatically faster. Just remember that once an update starts it might take some time, don't despair and wait for it, do not shut down your console while updating because it might cause problems! So the gaming begins with New Super Mario Bros. U and what a fun this game is! True to its roots the game plays and looks flawless. The Wii U's capabilities to output 1080p true HD complement the style and vibe of the Mario games. The single player mode itself can be a true challenge at times, especially if you are a hardcore gamer and would like to collect all the secrets. Or If you get yourself some wii remotes, the game supports up to 5 players to have fun with. Overall with this game you get the classic Nintendo treat in full HD with some new design choices but feeling as fresh and new as ever. Also you get the expansion pack that is sold as a separate game. New Super Luigi U brings even more challenge on the table with Mario's brother as the main character. There are many good things I can say about the Wii U, I already have a few games for it, Pikmin 3 being one of them that I simply love, but my favourite feature that many people seem to overlook is the ability to play most of the games on the gamepad screen. At the moment I live with a roommate so whenever there is something on TV he would like to watch and I feel like playing meanwhile, well, I simply switch to my gamepad. And the best part is that the quality of the screen is great and doesn't steal anything away from the game. I also love to lie in my bed at night, put some headphones on and immerse myself. It's nice to be able to do such things with your console. Overall I simply love everything about the Wii U. It's way better than the Wii, it's been well thought of, solidly built and already has some games that are of top quality. I highly recommend it!
