Bad Heroes
The Boys is a multi-season streaming show, which debuted on Amazon Prime Video. Based on the comic book series of the same name by critically acclaimed writer Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson, the show follows a group of vigilantes as they dare to challenge the out-of-control superpowered menace.
The team comprises Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Toma Capon), and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara). Standing in opposition are the Seven, a superhero team managed by US-based conglomerate Vought International. They are composed of Homelander (Antony Starr), Starlight (Erin Moriarty), Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), the Deep (Chace Crawford), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), and Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell).
Following the death of Hughie’s girlfriend due to the carelessness of A-Train, he joins forces with Billy Butcher to take the Supes down – the leader of the group known as the Boys. Simultaneously, the Seven recruit a new member to join their ranks: Annie January, otherwise known as Starlight.
Across the first series, the Boys try to take down the superpowered ‘heroes’ while also attempting not to die in the process. Of course, things become more complicated when Hughie begins a relationship with Annie, with neither of the knowing the other’s external affiliations.
