Sweet, but short

5

Infamous: Second Son is a cloud burst in a AAA drought on PS4. It is by far the prettiest game I have played. The world is not really GTAV-big - it can be dashed through in 4 minutes east-to-west. However, it is really, really detailed. Rooftops, roads, sidewalks, buildings, everything! Most of the surfaces are reflective, that's what makes it look so real. Concrete roofs giving off glare, water puddles on the road, glass buildings or even wet steel containers. Careful depth-of-field making for dramatic views of the horizon while standing on top of a skyscraper, all from distant woods to buildings looking incredibly realistic. Oh, and the particles! The plot itself is average. What sweetens it up and makes it better is the acting. Troy Baker did an excellent job at bringing Delsin to life, and the facial expressions are what really does it (subtle eyebrow movements, characters chewing gum, etc.) and makes the characters memorable. The gameplay is one of the best out there. It's just so much fun! Today I just went jumping across buildings and enjoying the scenery for half an hour. It doesn't drop below 30 fps, and is mostly in the 40 region, without the screen tearing even once. Forget the laggy games of the last generation. This is the smooth movie-like experience without any hiccups whatsoever. Powers are incredibly fun (especially on the Evil playthrough), original, and well thought out. The main flaw of the game is it's length. While it's obvious that the game invites you to do two runs (Good and Evil), it's still short (can be finished as quick as 8 hours) for an open world game, without much actual content besides the main missions and the District Cleanup. It took me around 24 hours of actual playtime to get to the Platinum and is hands-down the easiest Platinum I earned. That being said, if you're looking for a huge game with dozens of hours of content, you're in the wrong place. However, if you want a game that's gonna be an absolute blast both visually and gameplay-wise, twice, from the beginning to the end, you can't go wrong here. As soon as you start dashing with your smoke powers, you'll be hooked.

This is an absolutely brilliant game. The story is great although short, however this is not a problem because I find the game easily replayable. All the new powers are similar yet thrilling to use. Overall this game is Graphically phenominal, it has no problems, Great story and Gameplay and as a result makes this game Flawless. 10/10

Fantastic Game!

5

Really enjoyed this game - the graphics are great and although some people found the story a little weak, it was actually better than I was expecting, and more than enough to keep you interested in the game. Still more to do with a new online mission unlocked each week for the first 6 weeks after launch date too! Only real cons are the side 'missions' - although spraying graffiti and searching for hidden secret agents is fun initially, if you like to 100% a game these will get old and repetitive. Replay value is still fairly high though as there is a good and an evil route which does effect the way the story progresses so to see everything you need to finish the game twice. If you like collecting trophies there are plenty to collect that are good fun and aren't too complicated! All in all, an great game that I highly recommend, and an exciting peek at what next gen has to offer!

Wonderful game

5

This is a single player game where you control a man that get super-powers from an incident that you shall see if you play. You'll have then to choose how to use your new powers, will you be the vigilante of the city or will you destroy everything and everyone around you. This game is about choices, and every choice you make will lead you to a destiny that can be either good or bad... Enjoy! Very happy with this game. The game arrived one day later than expected but it was worth the wait. Thank you Zavvi for bringing me this.

This is a truly amazing game that is exclusive to ps4. Good story and good hero or villain depend how you play. I would definitely recommend that anyone who owns a ps4 should buy it

Delsin is no Cole.......

......but who cares when the game is this much fun. Amazing and well thought out powers , once mastered can deal big damage and help you traverse the city in the blink of an eye. A must if you own a PS4!

Great follow-up

Was a bit worried, after being a big Infamous fan on the PS3, that this wouldn't live up to expectations - but it certainly does. It's got a different storyline, set years after the original games, and has a new hero/villain with all new interchangeable powers. It plays great, while keeping the gameplay is as good as ever. And the PS4 graphics are stunning - a must-buy for owners of the PS4.

inFAMOUS: Second Son

I was really impressed with inFAMOUS Second Son's visuals. Graphically stunning and has all the traits that made the first 2 games great. Delsin Rowe is a much more likable character than Cole was in the first two games. The story I really enjoyed as well, though for an open world game I thought was quite short. The other activities such as spray painting, Audio Files, destruction of DUP property and collecting the blast shards does flesh it out, and of course there's the second run through to play with the opposite karmic decisions to what you chose the first time around. It's a very well made game, and the free paper trail dlc is coming out over the coming weeks. Definitely worth buying.
