Great game, and the split screen really rocks. I've been playing for 20h without a break and I am still not satisfied!

Adrenaline Cinematic Feel

That's how you can define this game. You can consider Split/Second as an action-movie-racing game. It takes the adrenaline of Burnout mixed with explosions and destruction typical of Hollywood blockbusters! For driving crazy, you grow up a meter that allows you to activate traps on the circuit in order to smash the opponents or even change the circuit itself, creating shortcuts and making all around you explode. The game features classic race to the finish line, an intense mode where you have to chase a truck throwing at you explosive barrels, race to the end of the track evading missiles from a helicopter and more!! Graphics looks great and the soundtrack remind the ones from classic action movies. It's pure fun! And at this price you won't regret anyway!

I love racing games and have been playing them for years. In this genre there are a few types of games which can be split into two categories. The "realistic" ones and the entertaining ones. It doesn't mean that "fun" games are not realistic but that they are more forgiving and focus on entertaining while realistic games focus, sometimes completely, on your driving skills. As an example, Toca racing, F1 racing and Collin McRae are about precision driving while need for speed and outrun are about having fun. If you have an online account I urge you to download the demo and to try it out. Although you will only feel three cars in two racing tracks, it will enable you to get a feeling on the precision, difficulty and fun factor. For those of you that want to read about it, here goes. So, split second is a racing game in which you can trigger various demolition acts in order to eliminate other racers while avoiding such acts for your sake. In order to qualify for triggering demolition, you need to drift or draft. Drifting sideways and drafting after another driver. The game is forgiving in terms that if you crash or get blown up, it doesn't mean that you can't still win the race. This also keeps the suspense since everything can change. The game also includes various race types such as elimination (kicking out the last one every few sec. ) and special ones like dodging missiles being shot at you or dodging explosive barrels thrown from a truck. A great online gaming scene if you have a live account. Bottom line if you like racing games and enjoyed action packed games like need for speed then this one is for you. Defenetly. Vago

Split/Second: Velocity

This game is fantastic, it brings driving games to a whole new level. I finally feel that driving games have now hit the 21st century. If you have played the demo, there's no point it's nothing like the real game. There are so many tracks, explosions, and action in this game. Now cant wait for Blur to come out!

Great, but gets repetitive

When I first played split second, I was amazed. I had previously been used to playing Forza 3, where there are no weapons involved, so playing a game like SplitSecond came as a shock.

Poor man's Burnout? Not a chance mate. This is the real deal, and my first game (which was supposed to last 5 minutes) ended up lasting almost 4 hours. It's THAT good, and the multiplayer is amazing. My game of the year. Natch.

This game is a perfect mix of burnout with Michael Bay at the reins. Though this is produced by Disney it's definitely no kids game, fans of the burnout series will fall in love on the go. It's crisp in the graphics department and I think if they updated this with add-on's with more tracks and cars it will be a unbeatable contender for game of the year.
