Must buy for any gamer
5These Metal Gear Solid games are simply tremendous, if you missed them up until now, you should get this HD collection now, it's one of those game series that shaped many other games in todays time, and also it's a classic. I'm usually not a big fan of single-player games but this has to be my favourite to date, Snake is epic, and so is Raiden. Definitely worth a buy.

A must for Metal Gear fans.
5Not much more can be said about these games that has been said already. If you loved them back in the times of PS2 this is a perfect chance to relive that experience with enhanced graphics. And if you are like me, who had no chance to play them back then, you can't miss this collection. Not many modern games have the power to make you feel like you are the main character in the game as these games do.

Three masterpieces in one box
5I think it is needless to say that all three Metal Gear Solid games are praised as being excellent artistic masterpieces, but having three of them in one box with updated graphics and extra content is simply incredible.

A collection of unique masterpieces
5Xbox 360 owners have likely never experienced all of the games in this collection (MGS2, MGS3 and MGS: PW), but every gamer who enjoys stealth or action gameplay should definitely check this out. This is by far the definitive version of the games, because they're all graphically superior to all other versions, and contain all the best additional content that could previously only be found in ultra-rare versions. It's difficult pinpointing where to start, because all 3 games (5 if you include the two 8-bit Metal Gears) feel very unique from one another, and are all good in their own way. The only critical point I can make about this collection is that it doesn't include MGS1, which will mean players may be confused with some of these games' engrossing, complex storylines. In case you're unfamiliar, the stories really give the MGS series its identity; with more interesting characters, plots and set-pieces than many espionage films. As for the actual gameplay; it's simple, addictive and challenging, especially in MGS: PW. These games are old, so you'll need to adapt to control schemes which may seem outdated. They also doesn't boast character models with 5 gajillion polygons. Their slow pacing may also be a put off to some gamers, with many cut scenes lasting several minutes. Some sequences are very melodramatic and bizarre. I can see why people criticise criticise the games for these reasons, and maybe it's an acquired taste, but by the time the credits roll in all three games, you'll really come to appreciate how awesome the series is. There's so much to say about this collection, but to be honest, typing this review has made me desperate to play it right now...

Snaaaaaake!!!!
5Stop reading this and order this game. Why Metal Gear Solid 1 is not included I do not know, however MGS2 & 3 are present and correct (the special editions of each) but Peace Walker is where it's at. There's a hell of a lot of content in all these games, and the price is a bargain. If you missed out first time round, take a look at these great games. There's a small learning curve with the controls but you'll get past that and be taking out guards, sneaking past cameras and destroying mobile nuclear weapon platforms in no time. Buy this game!

Good Service but Awful Game
1I am very disappointed with the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Basically it's just the original games but modified to look good in 1080p. My expectations were that the game would have been re-created with better graphics... Clearly not. For the price of the game it's just not worth it. The service from zavvi was great though! Game: 1/5 Service from Zavvi: 5/5

Tactile espionage action.
5Quality game play with tense scenarios, great for the both Metal gear vet or those with 'Rookie eyes'.
