Not a master piece, but enjoyable

If you know NIS, you know what king of games they do. Paradox is a dungeon crawler RPG with great dialogues and funnt story. Everything in it (sprite, monsters ecc...) resemble the great IP Disgaea, however it's different from it for the gameplay: you won't have x hundred of PGs to train, just yourself and some angels that will follow you (one at a time)in your Mission: grant any wish that your angels judge fine. NIS fans won't miss this title in any case, but whoever knows nothing about NIS should try the game FIRST, 'cuz someone may not like it: it's a grinding, quite difficoult game that will make you laugh hard.

A great Rogue-like JRPG

To start with, gotta give credit to the game developers for such a novel concept for a story. Without too many spoilers (nothing you wouldn't learn within 10 minutes of game play at any rate) an ordinary high school student wins with a losing streak dating back to his childhood, managed to finally win the grand prize at his local mall. The prize you ask? God. Now with your new found powers its up to you to guide the fates of those that pray to god. If you haven't already gathered from possible game play videos, this game plays similar to games such as pokemon mystery dungeon, whereby you may move in any of 4 directions: up, down, left or right, attack or use a special ability. All of this constitutes 1 turn, at which the opponents (which may not even be on screen) act after you, doing their respective action. Although this seems simple at first it can lead to a lot of depth, is it wise to fight those 2 enemies at once, maybe I should attack at ranged, maybe it's best to run away, or possibly maybe ask my partner for some help. This may seem like it could become boring overtime however this is when the game introduces new details such as the divingram system, item bursting, item synthesis as well as numerous other ideas so you can customise your character, and helper to your hearts content. Want a god with a mermaid tail, bat wings, 2 machine guns and a skull for a head, knock yourself out. That is just some of the character customisation that is allowed. Just for a warning though if your not used to these type of games, the earlier areas can be especially brutal. As dying early on will result in you losing everything in your current inventory, as well as the gear that was equipped, so its up to you, was the experience you gained over that past hour and a half (dungeons can take up to this time if you don't want to skip story) or would it be more beneficial for you to reload your save and redo those parts. For anyone after a fun rogue-like JRPG with a ton of customisation and depth, this game should definitely be on your radar.
