Skyrim is the incredible fifth game in the renowned Elder Scrolls legacy, the innovatively built fantasy role playing saga brought to you by Bethesda. The series revolves around the protagonist's mission to combat the prophecy that Alduin, the Nordic Dragon God of Destruction and the first born of Tamriel's primary deity Akatosh, will bring about the end of the world. The game is set 200 years after the events of the prequel Oblivion, in the land of Skyrim, which is in the throes of a civil war amongst the native Nord race. This war is due to the assassination of the High King, which has placed the entire Empire of Tamriel in turmoil.
You begin your journey as a prisoner sentenced to death due to a case of mistaken identity. Seconds before your beheading, a dragon, their species long believed to have been lost, arrives and burns the town to the ground. You discover that you are the last Dovahkiin, the last of the Dragonborn; a Dragon hunter. One of the few mortals chosen by the Gods to be blessed with the power to defeat the dragons, and ultimately defeat Alduin.
Limited Edition Burlap Cloth Map Included (While Stocks Last)
This new chapter in the Elder Scrolls saga brings you an even more expansive map, completely revitalised with absolutely breathtaking visuals and graphics. Skyrim is a completely open world, one for you to explore and enjoy with every step you take. As the game begins, you will be allowed to choose one of ten races to be, such as High Elf, Orc, Human, and more. Each race has their own special attributes and particular strengths, whether it be magic or melee based or something else entirely. You can decide what you would like to specialise in as you play throughout the game, gaining first hand experience as to what would most benefit you, completely tailoring your character to your exact specifications.
Within the game, you will never be short of things to do. Alongside the tenfolds of missions and quests to complete and dragons to slay, there are also many skills to learn. There are the secrets of alchemy to discover which aid in potion making, mining to do which can give you metals to smelt to make armour and weapons, as well as books to read which can give you hidden quests, and so much more. In Skyrim, every detail matters and accounts for something within the game, with so much to explore and investigate, and so many curiosities to sate.
Another way to fully integrate yourself within the world of Skryim is to join one of the many factions and guilds available to you, whether The College Of Winterhold, The Companions, or The Dark Brotherhood; each has their own history, special cause and armoury, as well as missions to assign you. In order to join any of these many guilds, you must first prove your worth to high members, who will ask you to demonstrate your abilities; for example, when attempting to enter The College Of Winterhold, you must first perform a spell for them.
Of course, the dragons play an immense part in this game, many of them found specifically placed to guard certain mystical items, such as relics. Learn their attack patterns quickly, as often they will randomly attack cities (and you) wherever you are, no matter what you're doing. With each dragon you kill, you will earn and absorb their soul, which powers Skyrim's new Shout system. This system provides magical abilities suited for any character to use. These range from the ability to slow time, change the weather, and shoot out ice or fire blasts, amongst others, even if your character has completely forgone magic and favours melee. These Shouts are yours to use once you find and learn them, giving you even more reason to trek around and explore the vastness that is Skyrim.
Only you, and you alone, can harness the power of the Dragonborn and the dragons, and defeat Alduin once and for all. (Cat Emerson)

Great Game
A really great open world rpg. If you loved morrorwind or oblivion, you have to buy it.

Awesome
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one of the best games, not just for this generation, but of all time. It has an immense world stuffed with limitless numbers of quests, even after you finish the main story you will turn back to Skyrim exploring every village, tomb, cave or fight epic battles with Dragons.

For the lovers of RPG's
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a great game if you love role playing games. It is even better if you are also proficient in first person shooters, since this game lacks the turn based style combat of Fallout 3/New Vegas. This game isn't without some negative aspects (your companion has the tendency to be annoying in combat), but if you can overlook that (i.e. be proficient enough in FPS that you don't need them) it is certainly worth the purchase price.

skyrim
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a must have for any one who likes RPGs. What they have done with this game is amazing. Dragons, giants, mammoths, wizards - you name it, it's here. I get lost in its world every time I play, and you can play in 3rd person or 1st just by the click of a button. What more do you want.

awesome game
Even though I never like RPGs I really enjoyed the vast map and the great gameplay in this game, one of the best games and a must have for this console.

Good game
A very good game, makes you feel at home in the real world.. Very good graphics. Though too bad there isn't any network features to quest with a friend.. Only with an npc and not the smart kind.

skyrim
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is not for me. I am a novice when it comes to game play and I am finding it really difficult to even navigate my way around. Having said that the graphics are really good and I like being able to pan round as if turning my head.

A must have
I have been following the series since Morrowind. Whilst being disappointed by oblivion, I can say that after more than 200 hours of Skyrim on PS3 I have enjoyed the game at a high level. You can do pretty anything as you want and when you want. The story plot is interesting but the multitude of side quests and plots to discover across the Nordic land is fabulous, outside or in the various dungeons and caves, including a massive one covering a huge section of the outside map. A really great game in terms of graphics, playability, story-line, and freedom. I strongly recommend it, but maybe not on PS3 as so far there is no DLC on this platform.
