Soul Calibur V
2Personally, I didn't really like Soul Calibur V , but if you like 2-person fighting games, you should buy it. It's very well-made, and everything is finished to a high-standard. Despite this, it seems to get boring pretty quick, as I played it for a week and then I got bored. For the quality of the game, I recommend it to any fans of the good old 2-person fighter game.

A great fighting game!
5Soul Calibur V is aimed at a less technical user, although every player could enjoy it. The new introductions in terms of gameplay work well, so do the new fighters. In short everything is very well balanced. The history is rich and rather varied.

Soul Calibur V is the best Soul Calibur game to date
5Soul Calibur V is the overall greatest and most fun Soul Calibur game I have ever played. It has good graphics, the game play is fun and an absolute blast. The mechanics of the game have been perfected with super moves, combos, parries and throws added in. The online multi-player game play is great, with little to no lag when you play in the same region. Even playing with the people in US, Europe and Asia, it still feels great too. The customisation options are robust in this game. You can make your character as unique as you want, with lots and lots of little elements to choose from. Aside from the multi-player aspects, the single player is still fun, and good for practising your moves and battle strategies since the AI is very good in this game. However, the story mode is just standard with less in-game cut-scenes, but it's a small price to pay for such an improved game. I highly recommend that any fans of fighting games buy this.

great game
4The game itself was amazing but the story mode was way too short. The online and character customisation make up for this and add alot of fun for party play too.

A tale of Souls and Swords, eternally retold.
5The latest entry in the Soul Calibur franchise is here with much expectation, but does it live up to them? For me, it surpasses them greatly. The graphics have had a further improvement over the already amazing Soul Calibur IV, but the new soundtrack is much superior to its predecessors, back on form with the original Soul Blade/Edge in terms of quality of the music. The game comes with a handful of offline modes including the much touted Story Mode which I will get to later, a standard 6 round Arcade mode, Quick Battle which puts yourself against simulated "online" opponents, Vs. Battle for offline multiplayer and the unlockable Legendary Souls mode, a special form of Arcade against the toughest AI opponents in the game on their hardest AI setting - a definite challenge for any player looking to test their skills to the limit. Along with these is the online multiplayer which includes your standard Ranked and Player matches along with friend invites for private rooms and the Soul Link system, allowing you to register up to 3 other people online to follow their progress and see how they're doing compared to you. Next we move to the Story Mode, something waited for by the fans but does it deliver? Well, it depends on what you were after. If you wanted individual stories for each character then you'll be disappointed, this isn't Soul Blade's Edge Master mode unfortunately. This story mode instead focuses on Patroklos and Pyrrha - the children of Sophitia Alexandra from previous Soul Calibur, 17 years after the events of Soul Calibur IV. I won't spoil anything here but it focuses on a select few characters instead of the whole roster, and while it does seem to rush ahead a little at times, and does have a glaring plot hole, I found it to be a generally well written story that showed beautiful development of the main characters along the way and left me feeling satisfied after having completed it. All in all I'd recommend this game highly as a fan of the series, especially for newcomers, due to the more balanced system and roster. Though for long-time fans I would suggest you at least try it and see how you find it if you're here for the Story Mode and related content, those looking at this for its multiplayer though I recommend it fully - it's one of the best multiplayer fighting experiences you'll find.

Clash Of The Swords
5Soul Calibur V is truly an excellent sequel to Soul Calibur IV, which in my personal opinion was kind of lacking. The gameplay has improved in this sequel, and the added new features will keep any beat'em up fan entertained for a hours on end. The Graphics are amazing, as well as the new characters, which add more to the overall storyline. The inclusion of Ezio of Assassin's Creed fame adds an interesting element to the game like it's predecessors. Overall, it is a highly entertaining game, which I would recommend to anyone!
