The game will be based on the most popular section of the anime, “The Sanctuary- Gold Twelve Palaces” Chapter.
The boss characters called the “Gold Saints” appeared inside the Twelve Palaces, and the paths connecting the palaces together mainly ran through barren locations. However, in this game, the enemy of the Saints, the Pope, utilizes all of his warriors of the Sanctuary, his home territory, to impede the main character’s progress through these regions.

- This game will feature battles with normal non-boss type enemies ( Aka “grunts”) on the path that connect the Twelve Palaces which will allow players to experience the strength of the moves possessed by Seiya and the other Saints such as the “Pegasus Meteor fist” and the “ Lushan Dragon flight”
Polished Cloths for core fans:
- For core fans of Saint Seiya licence on of the greatest characteristic of the anime is the armor that the main characters and Gold Saints wear, called ”Cloth”. This title will place the focus on the depiction of the Cloths. In the anime, Cloths are given to Saints by the Goddess Athena, and rather than being made from mere metal they are created from a mysterious material. For example, the Pegasus Bronze Cloth that the main character Seiya wears is depicted as being white in the anime and as being silver plated on figurines.
Among fans, their image of the true form of this Cloth is now therefore a mix of these two depictions. This game will aim to replicate the “ideal” form of the Cloths as held by Saint Seiya fans, with the highlights sparkling white and the shadows reflecting metallically through the use of environmental mapping.
Characters in variety and differences in each enemy grunt:
- The following character models will be created in order to replicate the characters that appear in the Twelve Palaces chapter anime.
- 26 playable characters, a total of 46 models.
- 26 enemy grunt characters.
- 14 boss characters.
- 2 varieties of characters for use in story movies.
During the game, a large number of enemy grunts will attack the player. These are not, however, all identical clones of each other. While their main color is a unified depiction of the “strength of that enemy,” use of different colored belts and boots reduces the feeling of them all being identical clones. Furthermore, the AI is not group based but rather each character acts independently, giving them a sense of lacking unity and really bringing out that feeling of “grunt-like weakness and pathetic nature” seen in the source material.
Character growth
As the player progresses through the game, attributes like attack strength, defense and amount of cosmos will increase. In addition, the characters will learn new techniques or their techniques will become stronger, through either the story or character development.
Destructible environment faithful to the anime:
- To replicate the environments that appear in the Twelve Palaces chapter anime, the following stages will be available.
- 12 stages for fighting enemy grunts.
- 14 stages for boss battles.

Great game especially for fans of the manga or anime. Very good and interesting level up system. Gives a variety of things to do allowing for a longer and better gameplay.

Awesome Game!
I'm a huge fan of the series, and for me Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle almost nears perfection. The only thing I miss is a VS mode. The co-op mode and mission mode are fun, but I really liked to be able to fight against my sister with our favourite Saints. It's recommended for any fan of the series!

If you're a fan, don't miss your chance!
As the title says, if you're a fan of Saint Seiya you should probably get Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle. It's from the same company that developed the two last games in the series for the PS2, Dimps Corporation. Sanctuary Battle differs a little from the previous style. Although all the previous games were based on a classic fighting genre, this new version is more inspired on the 'hack and slash' genre, which is very similar to Dynasty Warriors. The game follows the story of the Sanctuary saga, as the title says, which probably the most famous and most loved arc of the series. It's Japanese full-voiced only, with English subtitles, which I think is great since it's more immersive and you get a feel of what the original series really is.

Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle is a must have for hardcore and casual saint seiya fans. The graphics are top notch cell shaded, which combine with fluid animation. The game looks great including all the characters in anime form. The details in the level design is amazing. It's pushing the PS3 capabilities to its limits. The gameplay is great. There are tons of combos and special moves from the anime series. Boss battles are challenging enough to keep you on your toes at all times. Hordes of enemies coming right at you all time making the game challenging and fun. The overall game is outstanding. The battle music, character rosters, level design and fantastic animation all blends together to create a perfect saint seiya game for fans and hardcore gamers combined. It's definitely a must have title to add to your Playstation 3 collection.

Excellent
Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle is a great game. The game is for fans of this saga, only those who know the original stories will be able to fully grasp what is going on. The game play is dynamic and almost respects the original story. The graphics are not bad. If you like the TV series, you will enjoy this game. The battles are a little repetitive and the graphics are not the best in this generation, but you can revive the epic battles in the sanctuary! I love it, and I have several friends bothering me to finish it so I can lend it to them!
