Stunning
5Level 5 and Studio Ghibli have crafted a beautiful game world to explore, not only that but the gameplay is fun (a mix between pokemon and the tales series). The storyline is touching and the sound is top notch. For anyone who is an existing fan of JRPGs or for those looking for a good starting point to get into the genre, this is the game for you.

Ni No Kuni
5Ni No Kuni is a game that just keeps on giving. 15 hours in and I have barely touched the surface of what is setting out to be an epic game. The Studio Ghibli animation style is breathtaking. The characters are varied and all bring something different to the table. The writing is witty and imaginative, at times I found myself laughing out loud to some of Drippy's comments. Gameplay wise the combat systems offers a lot of flexibility in terms of how to go about a battle. The battles take place in real time although cool-downs are in effect so you have to plan your attacks. Having not completed the game I cannot comment on the overall impact of Ni No Kuni, but after the first 15 hours I can definitely say that I cannot wait to play the next 15.

Wonderful game
5Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch is one of the best games I've played in the last few years. This is the only game in which I try to get platinum a trophy. I'm only little sad that I haven't bought the wizard's edition, because it's pretty cool and also useful in the game. Must have for everybody!

Hypnotic
5Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch is breathtaking, beautiful and captivating. If you are sick of blood thirsty games with all their violence and crude language, lose yourself in the wonderful world(s) this game offers you. Yes, gameplay combat can occasionally be frustrating and yes, it can be a little "twee" at times but it will draw you in and put a smile on your face. The Welsh character Drippy is very funny and the lead character, Oliver, is so nice you feel that you need to protect him on his adventures. I love this game, my children love this game and my grandchildren love this game. So, if you want to all sit round the TV this Easter and be transported to another land full of adventure you know what to do. Order this game from Zavvi today, you will not regret it.

Ni no Kuni: Best of JRPG, Studio Ghibli and Pokémon
5My first encounter with Ni no Kuni was at the Tokyo Game Show and being a Studio Ghibli fan myself it's visual style immediately appealed to me. The story seemed interesting from what could be gathered from the trailers and when I finally got down to play the game I was not disappointed. The Playstation 3 renders the vibrant and colourful world(s) beautifully and the game is set to the tunes of renowned composer Joe Hisaishi. In the early stages of the game you are rail-roaded with lots of cut-scenes but at some point you are really stepping out into the game and the transition from watching a Ghibli story to being part of a Ghibli story is really smooth. Then, one by one, game and battle mechanics are introduced. Players face puzzles, learn magic, complete side-quests and learn all about a pet system not unlike Pokémon. To me at least it feels very complete. The option to choose Japanese or English voices just tops it off for me. My only regret is that I didn't get the wizard edition that includes a real-life copy of the spellbook you use in the game.

This game is magic!
5Ni No Kuni is the best JRPG I have played since Chrono Trigger, with a jaw-dropping sound track and some Ghibli animations in-between. Highly recommended even if you normally don't like JRPG games.

A great looking game with a moral
5In recent years there has been a drought of the JRPG on PS system. That is why Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch came as a breath of fresh air for me. The game's story is a bit of cliche, but with a twist. First of all, the main protagonist is not a pumped up teen, but rather an innocent boy. And although the 'save the world' theme is ever present, the main character's motives for going through the quest are very personal. The game's main theme, loss and how to deal with it, is presented in a very approachable way and is not an indifference to anyone. Technically, the game looks and plays beautifully. Studio Ghibli did an expected, flawless job with design and animations. There are a couple of screen tearing instances, but they are few and far between. To sum it up, if you love a truly classic JRPG, do not miss this one, and if you don't, give it a try anyway, you just might be surprised.
