excellent
4I recommend Binary Domain to everybody, as it has nice graphics, fun game-play, and a great story-line. The campaign is fantastic, with a significant level of difficulty. I've noticed the multiplayer has a lot of lag, but that could be down to anything. The offline mode is enough to get a lot of hours of fun from it, so I definitely recommend you buy it now.

Binary Domain review
5Binary Domain's combat is pretty straightforward but surprisingly fun. Taking pages out of Gears of War and Mass Effect, Binary Domain has a very well-implemented cover system that you'll use throughout the game's various firefights. You can hop in and out of cover with a simple button push, and can use your surroundings to great effect as you try to get into a prime firing location. You'll have the standard gamut of weapons at your disposal, like LMGs, sniper rifles, etc., but you'll also have nifty gizmos like Decoy grenades or your assault rifle's alt-fire energy blast, giving you options on how exactly you can dispatch your mechanical foes. Your enemies will be robots of varying size, type and difficulty, which helps ensure that gameplay doesn't get too repetitive after you've blasted through your umpteenth tin can. You also can aim your shots and disable a robot's legs to slow them down or take off their heads to cause them to attack their allies. While for the most part you'll just be aiming dead center and blasting away, it's nice to see that there's a little bit of strategy available in how you fight. There are several rail-shooter sequences and a handful of quick-time events to break up the action here and there as well. You'll be thrown up against some rather large and imposing cybernetic beasts in the game's boss fights, each one so different from the other I started to wonder who exactly in Amada's R&D department thought building a huge robot super-gorilla was a good idea. Unfortunately one issue with the boss fights is they have a tendency to take most of the usual gameplay features, like the whole "taking cover to avoid death" business, and throw them right out the window. When you take on a colossal, spider-like mobile fortress or quad-engine airplane, you'll be dashing around frantically with your finger pressed down on the trigger or hunting down a heavy weapon in order to take them down. In a way, it does break up the normal combat routine you'll usually follow, but on the flip side it ends up leading to some particularly frustrating in-game deaths.

Awesome Sci-Fi adventure
5Even though the atmosphere of Binary Domain is not like the movie Blade Runner, the subject tends to be close to it. It looks like a simple cover shooter, but it is more complex and even more fun. I like the story and even the characters. If you want a nice game, to just offer you a great story and some fun shooting time, than you have to purchase this game. The price is more than right so don't miss out.

5This is a very good game, I played the first demo from the PSN store and I thought it was a different type of shooter that was good fun to play, so I ordered and was not disappointed. it is great fun! shooting robots and it is funny! when you shoot the robots legs off and it still crawls towards you with gun in hand, and if you forget about one that has shot of legs that you left behind in your trail of destruction! it sneaks up and attacks! you. I would give this game 5/5 and would say graphics very good and feels like arcade type game, which you would expect from SEGA.

Excellent third person shooter second to only gears of war
5Firstly to say this third person shooter comes only second to gears of war may be s little unfair to Binary domain as in some parts it's better. The enemy AI is good, the story is funny and very good. The shooting mechanic is excellent allowing for distant pop shots. Unlike Gears it allows for squad selection and upgrades to nano technology and weapons. The robot bosses just keep getting bigger (and I mean big) and are fun to systematically dismantle. I bought this game after hearing and seeing online that this game is a GEM, and I have to admit I haven't been disappointed loving every minute of SEGAs silly Japanese shooter and playing it every night (which for me is rare indeed). At the reduce price this is a no brainer.

Binary Domain
4Binary Domain is a futuristic third-person squad-shooter, with a cover system that makes it look like its out of something like Blade Runner or Terminator. You can choose to use the optional microphone support, to communicate with your team, and all of the enemies have proper hit zones, and show damage as they take it. If you shoot their legs off, theyll crawl at you, again like something from a Terminator film. The gunfights take place in small areas, that are dressed up to look like huge environments. There's also epic boss fights, and the online multi-player consists of the usual variants on death-matches, capture the flag, and a Gears of War Horde-like mode, called Invasion. Overall, it's a great game, that I highly recommend.

3The perfect way to pass hours on a lazy weekend. The storyline can sometimes feel drawn out and may have you reaching for the skip movie button, however, it is worth watching and does extend the game considerably by some hours. Gameplay wise it uses all of SEGA's expertise. It's fast, fluid and excpetionally pleasing to the eye. If I could score it properly, it would be a 3.9.
