Great story and visuals
4Beyond Two souls is a superb story telling game. It consists of action, drama, sci-fi, etc. . All in just one game. The visuals are phenomenal and the voice acting top notch. The game-play itself is a little weird but the good thing is that each time you play the game you will follow a different path by choosing different actions to do. It would be great if it gave the player more control over the game but it is a must by my point of view. The steelbook edition content and the steelbook again is worth the money. Get a very big amount of extra content.

Amazing story
5This is indeed an experience that is worth having, because they managed to create a good story and the actors do a great job in making it alive. The steel book is beautiful, the only bad thing is that the soundtrack included as a bonus is not complete, it's just three tracks.

Storytelling at its best
5Great Game, Great Story, Great Narrative, Great Acting, Great Music....but still not game of the year candidate. Mainly beacause it's not as innovative as Heavy Rain was back than. But nevertheless it's an engaging experience to have a glimp at the life of Jodie Holmes. The Zavvi price for the Special Edition was beautiful, costing same as the normal edition? I had to buy it! Although the Special Edition does not contain anything worthwhile, except the steelbook case, which I love, Quantic Dream gives you only digital items, like a 30+ minutes gameplay which isn't very exciting at all, a soundtrack with only 4 tracks and some Behind the Scenes videos. But considering the price of this edition I can easily overlook the absent of something more physical, like a poster or an art book or something...

Exciting Interactive Thriller (with a few forgivable control quirks)
4I thoroughly enjoyed playing through (most) of BEYOND with Jody, Ellen Page's character. The story is bordering between science fiction & mystery, the graphics are richly detailed in most settings, although there could have been a few more "adventure style" interactions instead of making most of the settings static and non-interactive decorations. Storytelling is one of the gripes I had with BEYOND at a few spots: the jumping the story does follows no order or logic - the time jumps you have to face are sometimes pretty random and don't add or take anything from the story. Instead of playing Jody's story in a linear fashion, you will be jumping around a lot, so be prepared. The other thing a lot of (sometimes bad) press has prepared me for was control scheme or the lack of one rather. Instead of having free reign on Jody in "Action" sequences, it is expected of you to "react" to movements that are sometimes hard to follow or see in the heat of the moment. If you react "wrong" you just get a different result I presume, not having played multiple times just yet. But sometimes you wish you had an inkling of what direction was the "right" one to be flawless in that moment. You could switch on "easy" mode where arrows clearly point in the "right" direction. But come on, who does that? It pulls you out completely by dimming the screen and showing a big fat "that's the right way, moron" style arrow. Progression-wise it makes no difference if you hit or miss, the story continues, but you might have some blue eye or broken nose to tell the tale of your failure for you. Other than the above gripes I think the press didn't do Beyond all the justice it deserves and we should give kudos to Sony for keeping up the exclusivity on their platform with creative games other publishers wouldn't bother spending money on, let alone market them in a way Sony did. Definitely worth your money if you enjoy Science Ficion, Mystery (Thrillers) in theater and can look over some gripes with controls & some weak spots in storytelling - overall a strong tale you will get told and truly heart-gripping at times.

Possibly one of my favourite games ever
5I am a big fan of Heavy Rain, so had great hopes for Beyond: Two Souls. The gameplay is one of the main polarising aspects of this game. You have to accept that the gameplay is similar to Heavy Rain, in that most of it is interacting with the enviroment, reacting to quick-time events, and steering a conversation. The story line is amazing. It's told in a non-linear fashion, which can be confusing at times, but is feels very rewarding when you start to piece it all together in your head. Beyond was an emotional rollercoaster, and I loved every minute of it.
