A solid shooter
Max Payne 3's presentation immediately reminds you of those Hollywood blockbusters loaded with over the top action and huge production values. The PC version in particular will blow you away with it's fantastic visuals. Fear not though, getting smooth performance combined with good graphics fortunately doesn't require the super-computer you might think it does. It also has the bonus of taking place in Brasil, which isn't used often in videogames, specially not the urban environments like Sao Paulo, let alone with this level of detail. All this eye candy wouldn't be of much use without good gameplay though and fortunately MP3 delivers. The gunplay is incredibly satisfying, you really feel the bullets shooting out of your guns and hitting your targets. In typical Max Payne fashion, the star of the show is the ability to slow down time while you jump through the air gunning down your enemies one by one as they move in slow motion. Nothing is more satisfying than jumping over the cover where your enemies have you pinned down and shooting them all down with one sweeping motion combined with carefully placed bullets, before you hit the ground. As you might expect with this kind of game, it's extremely linear and there are dozens of cutscenes to watch (or skip), but Max is a likeable character and he will probably grow on you throughout the game. It's a good comeback for the franchise so if you like third person shooters you wont be disappointed.

Review of Max Payne 3
This is only based on the campaign (single player) as i'd rather play games such as Team Fortress2, Counter-strike or Battlefield BC/3 for multiplayer action anyway. I wasn't very impressed overall, It seemed very restrictive and guides you down a very narrow and linear path while shooting waves of enemies. It is more like a cinematic story, with some gun play in between. Because of this i didn't really find myself immersed in the game and even with the decent graphics, voicing and good physics i soon got bored. 5/10

Max Payne 3
Max Payne 3 is a fantastic PC game. I wasn't sure whether to purchase this for Xbox or PC, but I decided to get the PC version and am not disappointed. The first thing to say about this game is to ignore the system requirements, I was initially put off from buying by the ridiculous specs (apparently its recommended that you have over 3gb video RAM) however I found that I could easily max out the settings with only 1.2gb video ram. The game looks absolutely stunning and runs so smoothly. The gameplay is really good, although max doesn't feel as precise as the first two game; movement feels a little bit clunky and awkward at times and shoot dodging is not as smooth. I wonder if Rockstar did this on purpose in order to highlight the fact that Max was getting a bit older and not so capable of the wacky acrobatics of the first two games. The sound is also really good, with good music and sound effects like gunshots sounding appropriately powerful. The game has quite a long shelf life, with additional game modes such as New York Minute and the multiplayer. The multiplayer is pretty good, however there does seem to be a lot of cheaters (I heard Rockstar is making efforts to reduce the number of cheaters) Now for some of the negatives. Unskippable cut scenes: these didn't really effect me that much as I was really enjoying the story, but there was an awful lot of cut scenes and the gameplay to cutscene ratio is a little bit off, but like I said, I was so enthralled in the story that this didn't bother me too much. Another negative is that this game is quite a departure from the original two games, with the noir style completely absent besides from the theme song. Plus the story isnt exactly what you would expect after the first two games. Despite those negatives I really really enjoyed this game (I would go as far to say that it is the best game this year, in my opinion surpassing Diablo III). If you were a hardcore fan of the first games, you may be a bit disappointed but overall it is a great shooter. Other developers could learn a thing or to about making PC ports from Rockstar. I personally don't mind waiting a while for a superior product.

Max Payne 3
Max Payne 3 is great. I'm not sure about the character of Max Payne as I have not been set onto the world of Max Payne and only played Max Payne one and two for a short while. The social club was easy to configure with the network as it was automatically added to my firewall thanks windows firewall ha. The Social Club offers the abilities to check your achievements in game (online or not) and check the scores of yourself and anyone else who has logged into the social club as well as chat with your friends I believe. You can compare time scores from different modes or kills or deaths online etc. Always a decent feature to have in an FPS. The difficulty of this game comes in 5 varieties which is nice as it allows newer players to become acquainted with the gameplay mechanics of Max Payne 3 without being shot to .... every few seconds. The game treats you with waves upon waves of enemies just like many other shooters. There is no difference there and you cannot shoot through walls unfortunately but there is very little room for complaint with the decent physics support and a whole lotta' stuff to shoot. The story is great with some nice twists making you think about the inner workings of Max Payne as he battles through endless waves of enemies not only physically, but emotionally too. The games graphics I thought were very nice, giving the user a heap of options to specify the level of detail throughout the game even allowing you to select between DX9 - 10 - 10.1 - 11. Not many games do that so it is nice to see it once in a while at least. Having the game built to run on very weak systems compared to todays standard with ease is great as it gives a broader range of people who can purchase and use the product, but this game also runs amazingly well on its top settings on a mid range computer. I am using 2x GTX 560s and getting roughly 250 FPS on average on full settings without MSAA limited by 1GB VRAM on 1920x1080. Overall, a great game worth buying great story great online capabilities great graphics easy to run. Hope you all have fun with it.

Top Game
The Max Payne series have always been awesome for its gameplay, story and cinematographic & realistic style. Max Payne 3 will be for sure the ultimate episode, with a online multiplayer experience which should be as fun as the single-player campaign.
