Crysis 3 is the feverishly anticipated third instalment in the widely and critically acclaimed Crysis franchise; developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts. The game is the sequel to Crysis 2 (released in 2011), and will also run on the ground-breaking CryEngine 3 game engine that was introduced within its prequel. The Crysis series showcases an innovatively created first-person shooter, fusing this with high-tech military shooter and sci-fi elements, as well as sandbox gameplay.
It is the year 2047, and the game revolves around a man by the name of Prophet, a character that has been re-introduced since the events of Crysis 2, and who has returned home to New York to discover that absolutely nothing is as he left it. In the aftermath of the alien invasion, New York City has been encased in a gigantic Nanodome bubble created by the sinister and vindictive Cell Corporation with the pretence of protection, leaving it to fester and transform itself into an urban rainforest. Within the nicknamed Liberty Dome the environment has been split into seven separate themed areas known as the Seven Wonders, with once tall and proud skyscrapers now crumbling away to nothing, the underground system rotting away as dark and dank caverns, and rivers where there were once roads. Now it is up to you as the protagonist Prophet to hunt down the members of the corrupt Cell Corporation, in order to discover the truth behind their actions.
Armed with an enhanced Nanosuit, a lethal composite bow, as well as high tech human and alien technology and weaponry, both skill and adaptation is crucial if you want to survive this treacherous urban jungle, which is fraught with both human and Alien Ceph enemies. Prepare to be kept constantly on edge as you never know what might be lurking around the corner in this unpredictable ravaged city, and be ready to turn every situation and use this environment to your advantage. The extraterrestrials still wander the streets of New York, but this time you’re ready for them. Get ready to stalk, track, and hunt throughout this ruined city in pursuit of your pray, and ultimately revenge. (Cat Emerson)

Great benchmark but little else
Crysis 3 is a great game to test your rig, but unless you have spent top dollar for everything at the extreme end of town you are going to have to wind back settings to get this game running nicely. Turning off MSAA and winding back shadows and CPU intensive settings to High or lower is essential for an average gaming rig with an i5 and HD9750. Once it's running well you can appreciate the spectacular graphics, but unfortunately the gameplay is sorely lacking. The AI are just plain dumb and either run at you blindly or loudly announce their intention to flank you. The bow which can be fired when cloaked makes the game a cakewalk and the upgrade system feels tacked on. Also an irritation is that the disc requires Origin to be installed, an origin account created and a massive patch downloaded before you can even start playing. This took most of an evening and left me wondering why I didn't just buy it off steam. Personally I'm enjoying replaying the original Crysis with some recent graphic enhancement mods more than Crysis 3.

Crysis 3
Hello, Crysis 3 is a very nice play, but I like to play in German.

Better than 2
The world is more open again, though it does not reach the freedom of the first part. The story is okay. The KI sometimes behaves funny when you cloak. Overall it is a fun shooter, though I would not spend more than a few pounds on it.

Good Game
Crysis 3 is a fun game. The gameplay is somewhere between the first Crysis (open world) and Crysis 2 (limited Areas) The (confusing) story ties in with the Prequels and ends more or less satisfying . As other Reviews mentioned the graphics are awesome, the sound is also very good. The game could just be a bit longer. Multiplayer is OK so far, but high-Level Player have an advantage due to better weapons and perks.

Feast for the eyes
Crysis is well known brand which excels in graphics and with its greate and interesting story it won the hearts of all First person shooters fans. I personaly played already Crysis I, Crysis Warhead and Crysis 2, and every time i played next Crysis I was paying much atention in graphics and physics implemented in the game. Each time I was astonished with details, way everything moves... and to top it of the way the water was created... it's simply breathtaking. Each version was 1-2 years ahead in graphics than all others games and they still ahead. Graphics in Crysis 3 is even more breathtaking then in second. Moreover the way authors lead the story is great. What makes me even more interested in Crysis 3 is bow but well that's my personal favorite fps weapon... nothing I can do. Well, I believe every person who will play it will enjoy it very much.

not bad
The Crysis 3 graphics on this are awesome! Even on my kind of low end pc some of it is jaw droping you really feel you are in the thick of it all. Good epic story too with plenty of weapons to handle. However, all these great things just paper over the major crack in this game. Sadly it's the same thing that was at fault with the 2nd one is that it just seems to be on rails your just lead to your destination with no thought of how to get there, just shoot your way there. It is sad this game series has turned to this as the 1st game was by far one of the best fps out there because you had the whole island to explore and felt the expansiveness of the area and could take on missions as you wanted too. Now its just on rails shooting everything as it guides you along.

Crysis 3 - last and least?
I'm a big fan of shooters and especially the Crysis franchise. Disappointingly Crysis 3 lacks in so many ways, that I can't explain how poor it feels to play this game. The weapons are uninteresting, the bow is extremely overpowered (even on highest difficulty), there are lots of repetitive sequences, horrible rushing from one shooting-bubble to another, unimpressive cut scenes and graphic "improvements", that aren't worth a mention. The environment feels "dead" and static like hell, the jungle-atmosphere of Crysis 1 seems untouchable. Crysis 2 is in my opinion a better shooter than this game, it feels even more like a CoD with a one shot-weapon and slightly improved graphics. While Crysis 1 would earn 4-5 stars and Crysis 2 with DX11 and Hi-Res - 4 stars. Crysis 3 is the worst part of the trilogy by a mile and the biggest disappointment of 2013 so far.

a standard sequel
Crysis 3 is not bad, but not great. It's not a new or innovative game experience, and is basically similar to Crysis 2. It's still a good game, just not great.

Game seems good but a couple of down points
Crysis 3 seems quite good, the storyline so far is well thought out and is interesting. The game play is just as good as Crysis 2 and the bow adds a new level of stealth. A down point for me (and it is probably just my computer) is that even on low settings the game feels a bit jerky for me. This could mean it isn't optimised very well, or it could just be my specs.
