PokéPark 2: Beyond The World is the eagerly anticipated sequel to the game PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure which was released in 2010, with both games exclusively created for the Wii console. These colourfully vibrant and visually enchanting games allow you to explore a vast playground, created especially for both the Pokémon and you to enjoy. Make friends with other Pokémon, have fun on all the attractions and so much more, as you delve into the PokéPark.
When out together in PokéPark, Pikachu and Piplup hear about a strange and mysterious Wish Park that is causing the Pokémon to act strangely. Curious, the pair set out to investigate and discover chaos of Pokémon attacks. In all the mayhem, Piplup gets left behind in the Wish Park, and Pikachu enlists the help of Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott in order to get Piplup back home to PokéPark safely. These three team mates mean that this game accommodates up to four person multiplayer, so you can enjoy this adventure with both family and friends.
As you travel through the many areas of PokéPark, including Port Area, Rock Area, and Flora Area, you will find that your team mates special abilities come in very useful! Switch between any of the four Pokémon depending on the situation, with Snivy's move Leaf Tornado meaning he can jump higher than the others and reach areas the others cannot. Tepig can use his Flame Charge to crush boulders that you find throughout the areas, and Oshawott is the only member of this dynamic team that can swim through the water areas. Along the way, you will encounter many other Pokémon you can make friends with, some of whom will want to play a game or challenge you to a battle. Should you win, this Pokémon will become a part of your team, and will be able to fight for you in battles against other Pokémon.
Alongside all this, there are items to collect that you can find throughout the various areas of Poképark. Should you not be able to find them, you can trade items with the other Pokémon you meet in order to collect them all. There is also a Battle Tournament, within which you must go through ten rounds of battles to show off your strengths and become the champion. The attractions in the Poképark have also been completely revamped in order to be the most fun for four person multiplayer. There are also skill games such as Chase, where you have to capture or tag the other Pokémon you're playing against within a time limit. All of this, and more, means that you will never be short of excitement or fun things to do in Poképark 2: Beyond The World. (Cat Emerson)
