Professor Layton and the Spectres Call
5Having got the other three Professor Layton games, I obviously had to get this one. Just as good as the others, with interesting puzzles to complete, some hard, some not so hard and some easy. The only thing that puzzles me about this game is that he just meets Luke in it, when Luke has been in all the other games. Would recommend this game to all who like doing puzzle games.

An excellent continuation of a brilliant series
4Let me start off by saying how much I have loved all of the Professor Layton offerings to date, and so I was eagerly anticipating this newest instalment. It did not disappoint. Having come to the end of Layton and Luke's time together in the previous game, "The Lost Future", this game takes us back to where it all began, in Luke's home town of Misthallery. There is trouble afoot as a giant spectre is rampaging the town, leaving destruction in its wake. Professor Layton receives a letter from an old friend, crying out for help. As a gentlemen, he believes it is his duty to help a friend in need, so he sets off to uncover the mystery. But he is not alone at the start, for this game sees the inclusion of a new character. Some will recognise her from the film, "The Eternal Diva" (which chronologically is set after this game), as the Professors assistant, Emmy Altava. She adds a certain charm to the game and gives a different perspective as you go around exploring. The puzzles in this game are as fantastic and varied as ever and I did not tire from solving them once through the game. The story itself is very good, but I will not go in to details here! However I did not feel it was quite as good as the last game, which was my personal favourite, hence the 4 star review. For anyone who has enjoyed the previous games then this will not disappoint, and for anyone new to the series this is a great place to start as you could see the story unfold from day one (if after you finish you can resist picking up the three already released). So a great purchase for all.

excellent as usual
5I was eagerly awaiting the release of Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call as I already have all the others in the series. Really entertaining as usual, keeps me occupied for many hours and helps keep the brain functioning as some of the puzzles are really quite challenging! I would definitely recommend this game to others.
