Worth the wait, all 600 plus days of it
5Up until several weeks ago, I had never heard of Pit, or even Kid Icarus for that matter. However, upon reading the game features in various magazines and watching the jaw dropping trailers, my interest gradually grew and grew. I decided to take a chance and order it, and simply put, this game is epic in every single way and, for a handheld, just stunning to behold. This game has soooo much content and is superb value for money, so to sum this game up shortly (so i can get back to playing it :)) + Graphics are simply amazing, and if MK7 and SM3DL ever had a baby, this would be the result in those terms. + Hilarious dialog and references to various games. + Engaging story, with more twists and turns than an eel on heat... + Various weapons to use, find, gain, and fuse... + Endless replayability with the fiends cauldren, various chapters, intensity levels, and not to mention multiplayer. + AR battles are a dream to watch and a fun diversion. + Unlockables, treasures, and achievements to hunt down. + The music is simply moving and some of the best ever in a video game I have ever played. + Excellent mix and execution of air-land-boss battles, all of which are some of the most pleasing and thrilling gaming experiences I have ever experienced. I'm delighted with this game and so happy I took the plunge and gave it a go. To me, this is a legendary game, one that will be talked about for many years to come. If Kid Icarus Uprising is this good, then Pits next adventure and Super Smash Bros 3ds will be in a whole new league altogether...I can't wait! So grab your blade (and sandles) and let your wings soar and join the fight against Medusa and the Underworld... Enjoy!

Epic in every sense of the word.
5Every so often a game comes along and completely captures everything that I look for in a game. Games that simply must be experienced by anyone with even a passing interest in gaming. Kid Icarus Uprising is one such game. Everything from the level design to the phenomenal scripting reeks of a kind of care and thoughtful design rarely seen in today's market. But first a bit of a background. Kid Icarus is actually not a new IP, with Uprising being a continuation of a series that first saw the light of day on the NES, but it may as well be. Nintendo's first party development teams are renowned for their high quality games, but this is radically different from pretty much everything Nintendo has ever churned out, featuring fresh and innovative gameplay and a fully voiced and spectacular storyline. In terms of gameplay Uprising is split into two distinct styles; aerial flying sections in the vein of games Sin and Punishment and Starfox, and ground based third person action sections. The former are truly spectacular, showcasing beautifully the scope and grandeur of the landscapes the developers have sculpted. These sections only last around five minutes, but they're often so intense (especially on higher difficulties) that any longer would be exhausting. After these sections are the ground based missions, taking place over sprawling complexes littered with enemies. The aim in these sections is to fight your way from the landing area to that level's boss. It is worth noting at this point the flaw that has led to Uprising receiving a number of negative reviews; the controls for the ground sections are rather contrived, requiring you to move using the circle pad, fire with the L button and swipe the touch screen to change direction. The issue with this scheme is that you end up supporting the 3Ds with one hand, which isn't the most comfortable way of doing things. However, the game comes bundled with a stand for the system that makes it all much easier, and once you have played the game for a while the control becomes second nature. Some critics have bemoaned the lack of circle pad pro support, but believe me when I say the speed and dexterity required to play this game simply couldn't be provided using a twin stick control scheme. Unusually for a Nintendo game the story in Uprising is truly something special. I don't want to spoil anything, but what starts simply takes a number of turns that you will never see coming. The voice work and scripting also deserves a special mention. The characters are all very funny and unique (seriously, this game is second only to portal two in terms of how funny it is!) and are constantly bantering with each other during levels. Cleverly, this is how most of the game's story is told- during the gameplay. Very rarely will you encounter a cutscene, meaning that the action goes pretty much uninterrupted. I could go on. There are so many more things I could praise, such as the innovative and clever intensity system for controlling a level's difficulty or the fantastic musical score, but frankly I'd be beating a dead horse. Believe me when I say that this game transcends anything previously seen on Nintendo's fledgling handheld. I love it!

A must have 3ds title!
5Kid Icarus Uprising is nothing short of a perfect game, there is never a point in the game where you are not having fun, having a good balance of in flight and ground combat, the game will have you shooting nasty s for hours on end. The overall art style is stunning and pushes the 3ds to great lengths whilst keeping a high frame rate, whilst the accompanying sound track is just awesome! With the lengthy single player mode and thrilling multi player combat, both local and wifi, this game is a definite must-get for any 3DS owner.

Kid Icarus : Uprising
4The 3DS needed an action game like this. It's fast, frantic, challenging and absolutely packed with content. This game uses the 3DS' feature set like no other, get it, it's great fun, even with the challenging control scheme.

Best 3DS game by far
5This is one of my favourite games ive played EVER!! Everyone complains about the controls, yes they take some getting used to but after an hour youll love them! The multiplayer is this game is astonishing, it has 2 modes both of which are addictive and fun. the single player is packed with content, it will take about 12 hours to complete but if you dont get addicted to the multiplayer or just to do single player on a harder intensity nothing will. This game is totally different to the original, the original was all about platforming, this game is full of action that will keep you hooked for hours on end. It is, believe it or not quite like the 3D version of super smash bros. it has the same action packed fighting in multiplayer and the same feel to the single player; where theres basically loads of enemies to kill really fast. a must have for ANY gamer. I would buy a 3DS for this game alone!

Kid Icarus Uprising
5From what i played at E3 and various game events i can say that Nintendo really didn't rush this at all. The game itself is impressive and worth the wait and the money. The graphics are very good and the games easy to get used to with the control setup plus with a multi player this game has a massive replay value. The story revolves around Greek mythology. The game's protagonist Pit a young angel sent by the goddess along with a variety of weapons at his disposal the game varies from air based battles lasting 5 minutes then land based levels with plenty of action to keep the adveridge gamer entertained the boss fights can be a little tricky at first but once you know how they attack players should be fine. Kid Icarus Uprising is a recommended title for all 3DS owners and those that buy it wont be disappointed there maybe a wait for the game but i assure you its worth the wait
