This is the ultimate STB if you're willing to live with it and let it reach maturity. The remote control is a bit of a let down in many ways but is usable: you really have to point it to the box! The 500GB internal hard disc is not really required if you only need the BBC iPlayer, which is available via the internet and accessible via the built-in Ethernet port. Once the box is connected to your Ethernet, you can control it from any other PC connected to the same network. The current limitation is that you can only emulate the remote control, but apparently the company is working on expanding the API so there will be more commands. You can connect an external USB drive with its own power supply, as the 3view port does not supply enough power. Once connected, you can play movies, music or view photos on your TV. You can also access and view/play videos, music or photos stored on shared directories on your PC. I haven't been able to receive HD channels as these are not available in my area yet. Updating the firmware on the box is easy: I did mine from a USB stick. You can also check from your PC what programs have been recorded. Once the full interface has been implemented to fully access the box remotely, this will be a definite winner and very hard to beat.
