Outside the Vortex lies a desolate world laid to waste by war and pollution, populated by the Brutals, primitive savages and killers who worship a fearsome god, Zardoz. But one rebellious brutal (Sean Connery) is determined to survive on his own terms, which could threaten the balance of civilisation.. and possibly destroy it. Side-splittingly funny
Not many people will have even heard of Zardoz let alone seen it, but let me assure you, it's easily one of the most amusing films ever to be made. The plot is baffling, the acting is hilariously wooden, the dialogue is cringe-worthy, there's a serious lack of coherence and the overall vibe of the movie is one of confusion. When all these elements come together it's a laugh-a-minute film. Connery is having a fun time in this role but I doubt he had little clue as to what was going on. Seeing a floating stone head called Zardoz, which can talk, is perhaps the most amazing sight you will ever see in your life. At this price it's worth purchasing! 4/5.
