The Men Who Stare at Goats is a dark comedy inspired by a real life story you will hardly believe is true.
Reporter Bob Wilton (Ewan McGregor) is in search of his next big story when he encounters Lyn Cassady (George Clooney) who claims to be part of "The New Earth Army", an experimental US Army unit. According to Cassady, a legion of psychic warriors with unparalleled powers can read the enemy’s thoughts, pass through solid walls, and even kill a goat simply by staring at it. Now, the program’s founder, Bill Django (Jeff Bridges), has gone missing and Cassady’s mission is to find him. Intrigued by his new acquaintance’s far-fetched stories, Bob impulsively decides to accompany him on the search.

Star Wars Jedi mind trip Movie, Nice one!
Fab, I really loved this film and the Star Wars Jedi joke doesn't escape me, Ewan McGregor must have been laughing his arse off for most of this filming. Especially the scene's with George (Magnum) Clooney, wow does he look like Tom Selick in this or what!!! Stephen Lang plays his mental army officer character to a T, and I almost pee'd my pants laughing at Kevin Spacey's villain! Brill. And Last but no means least the fabulous Jeff Bridges, he's always a pleasure to watch. The man is brilliant!! I also loved the Goats : )

A let down
This is a film I was really looking forward to however I was quite disappointed. It has an amazing cast, George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Spacey, Robert Patrick and others. It is about the US military's investigation into use of psychic powers such as invisibility, remote viewing, cloud bursting, walking through walls and some of the attempted demonstrations of these powers provide the films funniest moments. There are a lot of entertaining moments in the film, if you like this sort of black humour, however the film never raises more than a chuckle and you spend much of the film waiting for something hilarious to happen. I'd still recommend watching it though don't expect it to be as funny as other films in the genre.

hilarious
I thought this was a hilarious movie. Jeff Bridges is in full on DUUUUDE mode and he absolutely cracked me up. The film is not as good as the book (loads of the really good stuff has been chucked out to make it shorter) but it's a great night at the movies, and Bridges is a LEGEND
