From the pen of acclaimed Liverpool writer Willy Russell (Educating Rita, Shirley Valentine) comes an engaging drama about class and happiness. Billy (David Morrissey - Basic Instinct II, The Deal, Blackpool) and Icky (Spencer Leigh - Strapless, The Garden) are two deprived, dead-end street-corner kids trying to rediscover an all-to-brief spell of contentment in Wales. One Summer was first transmitted on Channel 4 in 1983 and chronicles how two hard-bitten youngsters are affected by the people, their surroundings and the attitudes they encounter.
