With his long blonde hair and Scandinavian good looks, Bjorn Borg changed the face of tennis in the early 1970s, creating a pop culture which the game had not witnessed before.
He won his first Men's Singles crown in 1976, defeating the Romanian Ilie Nastase. He went on to win a record five consecutive Wimbledon Men's Singles titles and experienced a rivalry with John McEnroe which was arguably the most intriguing in men's tennis. Their epic battle in 1980 featured the longest ever tie-break in a Wimbledon Men's Singles Final.
The programme features contributions from many of Bjorn Borg's playing contemporaries and associates including a unique contribution from his long-term coach and friend Lennart Bergelin, his greatest rival John McEnroe, Ilie Nastase and fellow Wimbledon champion Virginia Wade. It also includes action from all of Borg's Finals and there are further contributions from some of the game's greats, such as Boris Becker and Tim Henman, who regard Bjorn Borg as their tennis idol.
Narrated by Patrick Allen and written by Andrew Longmore, Legends of Wimbledon - Bjorn Borg is a fascinating look at a player described by many as the greatest athlete ever to have played the game.
