Doc Martin carries on from last series the back drop of port Isaac gives the cast great advantage when delivering the script a simple story line adds to the charm of this series but I think if a new series is going to be made you may need to relocate to new locations such as London and incorporate. Some new characters in to or bring back his parents in to the series.

Doc Martin - Series 5
Martin Clunes is at his best in the Doc Martin series. This protrays the continuing saga of his singular ways to upset everyone in Portwenn with his unique and sometimes bizzare bedside manner. It provides good entertainment and very worthwhile. You'll end up watching again and again.
