Charley Varrick
Charley Varrick is not very well known, which is a shame as it is a very fine thriller, that sees its star Matthau and director Don Siegel at their very best. The story is about a group of bank robbers who do a heist on a bank in a small mid-western town, only to find that they have stolen mob money. They soon find that the mob are after them in the shape of a hitman called Molly, played by Joe Don Baker. The twist and turns are good as are the supporting cast including John Vernon and Andrew Robinson.
