Oscar-winning Director Joe Johnston (Jumanji, The Wolfman) brings the popular Marvel Comics hero back to the big screen in this action-packed adventure of good vs. evil.
Steve Rogers (Chris Evans – Fantastic Four) is a highly motivated but drastically out of shape soldier who has been rejected yet again to be drafted out into war. Disappointed with himself and feeling as though he will never accomplish anything, Steve is just about ready to put his dreams behind him and quit, until he is offered to take part in a secret experiment led by Dr. Erksine (Stanley Tucci – The Lovely Bones). The experiment is called Project Rebirth, the aim is to take a weak and sickly body and enhance it into a superhuman body with maximum human potential. In order to prove his extraordinary courage to Dr. Erksine, Rogers steps up to the offer and comes out completely reformed. He is now equipped with incredible strength, endurance and agility. He is now a perfect soldier!
Immediately after the experiment, Dr. Erksine is assassinated by an agent of The Red Skulls dangerous association. Rogers, now a completely rebuilt and reconditioned human being, has the powers to take his revenge and also help serve his country in the meantime, becoming known as Captain America. (Matt Fairfield)

Review of Captain America: The First Avenger
This is a good film. A bit of light, funny entertainment with all the action. Definately worth a watch.

Good Film
captain america is a good film, although captain America was always goign to win against the bad guy! Thats more a function of how awesome he is though so its definitely a good story and introduction to the superhero. now i cant wait to watch avengers assemble. just have to keep watching this and the other prequel films till then i guess.

loved it
Great film, captain America is one of the best Avengers in my opinion, as well as being the first. Fantastic prequel to Avengers Assemble. A bit America I suppose but even so very fun to watch.

Marvelous Film!
A fantastic comic book film, one of the best there is, up there with Nolan's batman, although less dark. Captain America is a great film, with an enjoyable story line, just the right balance of characters, and (perhaps surprisingly for a comic book film) absolutely amazing acting. The film has a lot of depth, and the characters are well developed and carefully thought out. I loved it.

Captain America: The First Avenger
Good action, cool plot, better than the 80s attempt by 100%. Brilliant lead in for The Avengers.

Captain America: The First Avenger
Captain America: The First Avenger is a good film, packed with action all the way through. It's a bit cheesy, but still a good laugh. I have bought this myself and would watch it over and over again.

Captain America
The film was very good, very entertaining. Fans of the Marvel comics series will be impressed with how well this film ties in the forthcoming Avengers movie.

Great Film!
This definitely has to be one of my favourite films of 2011, really looking forward to the planned sequels to be released! This is worth and buy and has lots of action.

HAIL HYDRA!
As a precursor to the fothcoming Avengers movie that fanboys dream director Joss Whedon has got his hands on, Marvel studios does well here setting up the story of the Avengers poster-child by not putting all it's eggs in one basket, something that Iron-Man 2 failed to acomplish. But it's the simplicity of Chris Evans gung-ho Captain which brings out the sit-back-and-enjoy factor as the screen is awash with thouroughly action-packed thrills and spills you expect from a comic-book hero. Chris Evans does his job as the courageous good guy with gusto and Hugo Weaving does his dastardly job as pantomime villain with relish. Stanley Tucci and Tommy Lee Jones are sorely underused sadly but what do you expect when you have to set up a character that's to be used in another film though? All-in-all a good action/adventure with enough charisma to set up the ticket sales for the upcoming ensemble piece in 2012. The only jarring gripe i have is the ending as i would have preferred another solo outing for the Cap to at least establish that it wasn't just another set-up movie, just like Iron-man 2 consequently ended up in that direction. After the Avengers, then what?

Captain America: The First Avenger
I had a feeling that this film wouldn't probably be as good as the other marvel produced films (Iron Man 1+2, Thor and Hulk). There is lots of fighting, explosions and shield action to keep you entertained and the plot keeps you addicted. But the main reason you need to see this film is to build up the story for the Avengers film in 2012.
