TRUE GRIT (1969)
What a great film, and a deserved Oscar for JOHN WAYNE, forget the remake with jeff bridges, this is has good as it gets. This performance is unlike any other he made in his long career going way back to 1928.There are so many classic scenes from start to finish, along with great dialogue. The film draws to a dramatic finale with a shoot out. The superb photography and great music by Elmer Bernstein, makes this a great western released in 1969, and sits well alongside other classic westerns released in the same year Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid, and The Wild Bunch.
