They don't make em like they used to
As this title has long since been a favourite of mine , I was determined to add it to my collection of classic horror Blurays. A collection that ranges from superb to mediocre in regards to quality of product. Thankfully , this goes into the superb category , a great transfer and good extras , best of which is the wonderful commentary by horror fans 'The League of Gentlemen' , who aside from consummate comedians are avid and knowledgable horror fans , so this extra is worth the purchase price alone. So sit back , grab a drink and enjoy VIncent Price's favourite performance , along with the majority of his own fans. It's a heady mix of classic horror , dark comedy and a crash course in Shakespearian violence............what's not to love ???

Front Row seats
I better not give this a bad review ..... !!! A suberb packaged film with extras & a booklet (so you don't have to keep stopping the film to find out storyline or actors name ) A good bluray transfer as well ....tho no big 5:1 surround ..but the dual mono works well enough ..a entertaining film from an all star cast ..well worth adding to collection

Theatre Of Blood
Vincent Price is at his scenery-chewing, campy best in this very dark horror comedy; he takes grisly revenge on the critics who panned his theatrical performances by dispatching them in various Shakespearean ways. The steelbook itself is nicely produced, with a reproduction of the film poster on the front. Certainly an essential purchase for any Vincent Price fan!

Theatre Of Blood - Steelbook
Vincent Price undoubtedly enjoyed his finest hour in this wonderful black horror comedy. He is perfect as Edward Lionheart the failed Shakespearean actor who returns from the dead to wreak a horrific revenge on the critics who had humiliated him. The supporting cast (Diana Rigg, Robert Morley, Dennis Price, Arthur Lowe, Ian Hendry and others) is perhaps the finest ever assembled for a British film that has long been considered a cult favourite. Fans have been waiting many years for a definitive version of the film to be released after a disappointing dvd release in 2004 and this BluRay doesn't disappoint. The extras are fascinating including contributions from Madeline Smith and an especially colourful Michael J Lewis who shares his memories of the film and the creation of his wonderful soundtrack. There are some excellent viewing notes detailing the history of the film and it's importance. The steelbook packaging is very attractive using the original poster art for the film. The only quibble might be that neither picture or sound appear to have undergone any restoration and especially in the case of the sound for the film - which was poor on the previous DVD release - this might have been desirable. Even with this BluRay it is necessary to really turn the volume up to properly hear the dialogue. All in all though this is a wonderful release and should certainly satisfy the numerous fans of this wonderful film. Enjoy.

Theatre of Blood - Steelbook Edition
Theatre of Blood the 1973 horror film starring Vincent Price as Shakespearean actor Edward Lionheart and Diana Rigg as his daughter Edwina. Lionheart who takes revenge on the critics whom he considers ruined his career and drives him to attempt suicide. Surviving, he goes about dispatching the critics in a variety of grotesque ways based around Shakespeare's plays. This is Price doing mad overacting with much fun. With a list of well known British actors hamming it up as well. Mixing comedy, horror and drama perfectly, this is one for Vincent Price and gore fans alike.
