Limited Edition?
Is it really Limited when it's been on sale for months with no sign of it selling out?

Definitive Version
I was blown away from the very first frame. The blacks are deep and rich, the colors pop, and the snow has never looked so crisp. I’ve owned every version of this movie and this transfer was like watching it for the first time. Of course, there are some soft and extra grainy shots scattered throughout, but that was from the source itself. A must buy for fans. You won’t be disappointed.

Great edition, ruined in Transit
I bought this as I am a huge fan of The Thing. I have a substantial collection of Films and Games and was looking for a new company to deal with, but it won’t be Zavvi. The packaging used to deliver this set in was way too light and the Box was crushed on one side. A real shame as it was an excellent looking set. I’ll shop elsewhere from now on.

Looks great.
The 4k transfer looks great. I watched this on a 4k TV with a 15 speaker set up. The original movie does not have a lot of surround sound effects. But this set comes with the 2011 prequal movie on Bluray, and this movie has nice surround effects. These special edition box sets are always nice, with bonus discs, a poster, a book, and art cards.

The Thing UHD
A great addition to the Studio Canal UHD releases of John Carpenter films - and it includes the 2011 prequel as well.

The Thing 4k
Excellent picture and sound. Nice addition of Ennio Moricone's score on CD too. It's a shame the extras have been ported over from previous Universal releases of this film, it would have been nice to have the Arrow edition extras too. The outer sleeve is a tad flimsy compared to Arrow, Studiocanal, Second Sight releases but on the whole this is a great addition if you don't already have it in your collection.

Awesome
This is one of my favourite films of all time. To have all these extras in one great package is a dream come true. The new transfers of the film are great but for me it’s the booklet, behind the scenes and the absolutely atmospheric soundtrack from morricone which are the real reasons why to get this. Great service as always from zavvi.

Carpenter Gold!
So unbelievably excited to receive this ultimate edition of the classic the Thing! It’s a thing of beauty and I watched it last night and the quality was something else! Spoiler alert - after all these years I still can’t decide if Macready is Macready!!

Great movie, box damaged
Hi, the movie quality itself was fantastic. There was however damage to the box but I think that’s more to do with the quality of the packaging , not any fault of zavvi
