The Thing Artistic GOREFEST
5The Thing (1982) / The Thing (2011) pack is a brilliant steal that sets you up for the pure horror of the original and the sustained gore of the remake. It contains some of the greatest visual effects in a film of this ilk and it retains a 'Euro' arthouse feel. The horror factor is increased scene by scene leaving you wondering. I watched chronologically and watched prequel to original, then it's a different film. The Blu-ray really does this one justice by enhancing the gore and drawing you deeper into it. Hook up a Home Cinema System and the immersion is total and exceptionally creepy. Add this to your collection now Horror Fans!

5The Thing collection is an awesome Blu-ray set for the horror fans. You couldn't beat the price and for those that haven't watched these movies, watch the new one first.

Outstanding!
5I'm giving this a 5 star rating for the original version of The Thing. A masterpiece and possibly Carpenters best film. The prequel (newer film) is still a good film but doesn't have quite the same suspense or shock factor as the original. Seems CGI spoils films rather than improves them.

4Great to get The Thing (1982) / The Thing (2011) together, they are good Halloween movies. I still prefer the original movie over the newer one, it just shows a bigger budget doesn't mean a better movie, but decent all the same.

5Fantastic excellent value for money. Gets you sitting on the edge of your seat from the very start. You can watch either film in any order and still be waiting for the next with excitement. A five star purchase!
