Awesome, disturbing film, stunning artwork on steelbkkk
What a film this is! Frank Darabont ("Shawshank Redemption", "Green Mile") directs Stephen King's story of a small town hassled by a mist that traps them at a superstore. Unfortunately the mist has nasty creatures in it (brilliant creature effects by Greg Nicotero). The scariest charector however, is insane, religious fanatic Miss Carmedi (played with real menace by Marcia Gay Harden). Thomas Jane's lead is a caring father who is trying to prevent a disaster inside and outside the store. The blu Ray picture is particularly brilliant, considering how dark the film is in places, no problem with detail in shadows. The steelbook art is amazing, love the convenience store sign actually saying "The Mist" title. Nice touch. Only slightly dissatisfied with the fact there is one large bluray holder (which puts both discs on top of each other) when there should be two (for both discs). Otherwise, superb film, brilliant presentation, extras and great steelbook. 9 out of 10.

Good movie, but why the B/W?
This is a relly nice steelbook to a really good horror/monster movie. This steelbook comes with both the original colored movie, as well as a black and white version thas apparently is prefered by the director. I havn't watched the entire movie in B/W, but it feels cheep, like someone just put it on the computer and pressed a button, wich propably is what happened. For a modern movie to work in B/W, I think you either have to make it look older (i.e. remove modern technology and such) or you have to film in such a way that the contrast between dark and light comes of as more effective in the B/W spectrum, and "The Mist" simply isn't filmed that way.

A moder horror classic
The Mist is one of the greatest horror films ever made. From the fantastic short story by Stephen King, director Frank Darabont adapts a stunningly effective and creepy film with haunting atmosphere. When it comes to Zavvi's steelbook I must say that it is one of the most beautiful steelbooks ever made. This is a work of art with great cover design. It also includes great amount of extras and the black and white -version of the film. If you love horror then this is a must have. For all the steelbook collectors out there i say; Get it while you still can. A classic!

Unexpected surprise
When I pre-ordered The Mist on steelbook, I did so because it is one of my favourite, original horror movies. Plus I'm a steelbook collector so it just made sense. Boy was I glad I did! The artwork is sublime, the colour and design are flawless. Looks and feels like a really high quality finish. The artwork perfectly matches the mood and feel of the film itself. Really, really pleased with this one, a very welcome addition to my collection. Buy it!!
