Oscar nominee Barbara Hershey stars as Carla Moran, a hard-working single mother who, one terrible night is raped in her bedroom by someone – or something – that she cannot see. Met with sceptical psychiatrists, she is repeatedly attacked in her car, in the bath, and in front of her children. Could this be a case of hysteria, a manifestation of childhood sexual trauma, or something even more horrific?
Now, with a group of daring parapsychologists, Carla will attempt an unthinkable experiment: to seduce, trap and ultimately capture the depraved spectral fury that is The Entity. Eureka Entertainment is proud to present this groundbreaking horror in a special Dual-Format edition.

The Identity of Entity
The Entity is quite dated, but it's still an excellent watch. I think that it might unnerve female watchers more than it does male movie watchers because of the nature of the horror. This movie is based on a true story of a woman who was raped repeatedly by a poltergeist, in real life this same woman is 'still' being raped by this poltergeist. Unnerved by this she seeks medical help - which is quite limited, and she is of course wrongly diagnosed with mental health conditions. Not satisfied by this Hershey's character seeks further investigative assistance of the paranormal variety. Not surprisingly the providers of the two very different treatments clash, each maintaining that their method is superior. The suspense is good, and the acting is what you would expect from an early 80's horror movie. The action scenes of the raping incidents are quite graphic and show the ingenuity of the special effects crew. Barbara Hershey plays the rape victim, and the late Ron Silver plays a medical practitioner in his usual creepy style. A good watch all in all.

The Entity
As a big fan of 80s movies buying this was always going to happen, a very creepy film and well worth a watch but not on your own, the Steelbook cover is a bit odd, just the enlarged title, well worth a watch and a great addition to any ones collection
