Carl Th. Dreyer is one of world cinema's most celebrated and enduringly praised filmmakers. His visually arresting, pared-down style has been a major influence on such contemporary directors as Carlos Reygadas and Lars von Trier. This strictly limited edition Blu-ray box set collects a number of his most revered, award winning films, some of his lesser-known works, and an extensive selection of extra features.
Alongside award winning classics Day of Wrath (1943), Ordet (1955) and Gertrud (1964), the silent Master of the House (1925) is presented here for the first time in both its Danish and English inter-titled versions. In addition, seven of Dreyer's short films - made between 1942 and 1955 - are presented in full High Definition for the first time.
Special features include Torben Skjødt Jensen's fascinating 1995 documentary My Métier and extensive archival and outtake interview footage with those who knew and worked with the legendary director.

4 important Dreyer films.
Good quality prints in this box set by Carl T Dreyer, whose unusual films wont be to eveyones taste, as they're slow ,& stagey, but liked all of them. Master of the House is an 1925 silent film, Day of Wrath 1943,is about women being accused of being witches, the best is the superb Ordet1955,lastly Gertrude ,i found rather uninteresting, as everyone gazes into the middle distance, as Gertrud sorts out her love life. The last disc is documentry about Dreyer. Recomended, especially at the sale price.
