The Departed Steelbook
Once again a brilliant steelbook from Zavvi. A super cool cover and a brilliant bluray release of this classic. The disc has tons of extras and the quality of picture and sound is the best you will ever see of this movie. Ltd edition at a great price. Definitely one for the collection. Grab it while you can

Departed Steel
A film with so many stars running all the way through it shouldn't work due to big "A" lister egos etc but it does! Scorcese has enough control to keep em in check. In it's genre this must be one of the best if not THE best both acting and plot is outstanding, who's controlling who and who can you trust? The steel-book concept is a winner as some become available at Standard Blu ray prices after the release euphoria is long gone - the only danger is that some collectors may become dangerously obsessive and buy anything so long as its steel-book! This is a masterstroke by Zavvi of understanding human behaviour Kleptomania which should keep its clicks and mortar business going long into the future. All this while the young start to pay the same price for soulless and lazy subscription streaming the FOOLS lol. I notice some reviews seem to ignore the films and review the artwork on the tin well done Zavvi. Good business model I may even invest lol!

The Departed: Deception, Trust, Honesty
Arguably Scorsese's finest work of art since Goodfellas, The Departed showcases the finest aspects of film making from an artist who knows and loves cinema. The suspense of Hitchcock and the dense narrative gives us an energetic portrayal of crime, loyalty and law, mixed in with fine performances from a brilliant ensemble cast. The strength of the writing elevates this film to new levels within the genre and the tantalising last act will have you on the edge of your seat. Scorsese is back, and back with the prowess that flames within him.

Maybe, Maybe Not
The Departed is a great film to have in your collection. While the design is a little disappointing on this steelbook, it has a very nice glossy finish. The quality of the film is very good though. If I had a choose between this and the 2007 release, I'd definitely choose this one.

Modern-day Classic
One of very few remakes to come out of Hollywood to actually be just as good as the original, but with a stellar cast and a legendary director involved what else was going to happen. A fantastic film as most out there already know, was quite dubious as i am a huge fan of the Hong Kong classic Internal Affairs but i think i love this more than IF now :) I recommend this film to anybody that has yet to see it i really do. The steekbook is a nice touch to a amazing film.
