Influenced by Dario Argento's horror classic Suspiria, director Norman J Warren and screenwriter David McGillivray – reteaming two years after the success of Satan's Slave – created an offbeat blend of satire and the supernatural, sending up the British exploitation film industry while delivering ever more outlandish set-pieces.
