Superman Red Son Steelbook

Received it this morning from Zavvi as I had it on pre-order since the beginning of the year. As per usual it arrived in pristine condition without any damage to the steelbook itself. The steelbook is of a matt finish (high quality) but in my opinion (because many prefer steelbooks in a gloss finish) considering the Cold War era poster it is purporting to resemble it is a great idea to have done it that way. If you tilt the steelbook against the light the reds of Superman's symbol on his chest (hammer and sickle in this case) and the Soviet Union flags the soldiers are holding give off the impression that they are inlays as the ink used seems to be of a metallic nature and adds a real quality finish to the whole steelbook. The back of the steelbook which until now isn't on display on here is a wonderful artistic image of Lex Luthor, Lois Lane and Wonder Woman in front of a night sky with what seems like the Kremlin in the background with the nightsky moon and war planes. Underneath a large Batman wearing an ushanka (that typical Soviet furry hat with symbol of the era) running towards us. Batman's cape has the Soviet flag waving inside as he runs. Absolutely brilliant picture! All in all an excellent steelbook offering from DC Comics and Warner Bros for this DC Universe comic based animated masterpiece that everyone will enjoy.
