5I have owned this movie in a number of formats-video, dvd and now blu ray. This is the 2nd time on blu ray though. Saying this new "version" is excellent would be doing it a disservice, superb is closer to it. All the colour is right, exacting detail and beautiful imagery. As to who shot what-Stanley Kubrick or Kirk Douglas, that some fifty five years on is really irrelevant now. Kubrick may have being a hired hand, but even at 27/28 he was his own man. Douglas was also not a push over... A remarkable and flawed epic. Kubrick overcame it and Douglas never achieved it again. Well worth buying

Spartacus 55th anniversary edition
5I love it when they release a "remastered" and actually get it right! This 55th anniversary edition is nothing short of stunning. This is easily the best this iconic movie has ever looked and deservedly so. Detail is sharp and colours are fantastic. A DTS-HD Master audio track complements the feature to round off a truly brilliant blu ray release. Enjoy!!
