Space 1999 Bluray
There had never been anything like it before and there will never be anything like it again, the Americans called Space 1999 the U.K's version of Star Trek but it was far more than that, both bold in both storylines and look it was Gerry Andersons first live action series, the opening episode "Breakaway" was originally to be a three hour spectacular and so grand in look and scale that Sir Lew Grade who put up a large amount of the finance for the first series was so stunned at what he had just watched he called Anderson telling him that Breakaway was so good it should be seen on the big screen, never the less the episode was cut down to just under an hour and rest is history, the first season also contains what many consider to be the scariest hour of television during the 1970's that being Dragons Domain that still haunts fans of the show even today. The new DTS 5.1 sound mix is a treat as shows just how grand Space 1999 really was,its opening theme by Barry Gray is an all time classic and there are enough extras to keep any Space 1999 fan happy for hours. Add this to your classic Bluray collection as relive a time when T.V shows had big and I mean big opening theme titles and audiences were wowed at what they were watching.

Retro treat
This unsung sci-fi series of the 70s looks like it was filmed yesterday (if it wasn’t for the 70s haircuts and flares). Quality is stunning and the stories are surprisingly ambitious original for the time. At this price a title not to be missed.

Nostalgic Cheese
You can’t put a price on this slice of nostalgic cheese, dodgy costumes questionable acting and let’s face it pretty lousy effects but I LOVE IT 😂 if I had one gripe the fact that the episodes are listed in production rather than broadcast order other than that sit back and enjoy a bit of 70’s Slow Mo Moonwalking 🤓

Good Retro Space
I bought this set because I enjoyed it first time around and the price was very good value. I had previously held off as I feared it would not stand the test of time. Glad I did buy it because I am now enjoying it again. It stands up surprisingly well in an 'of it's time' kind of way.

Great series from back in the day. Watched some of it when I was a kid, now got the Blu-ray , be able to re-watch the complete series again.

Space 1999 complete series
If you love sci fi, you will enjoy this. From Gerry Anderson this 70s show has it all. I love this show and I remember watching it every Saturday morning when I was young. I whole heartily recommend this show and as its on blue ray that's even better. Thanks zavvi.
