Drifter Cameron Vale is plagued by incessant voices in his head unaware that he is a scanner, a group of people with extraordinary powers who can not only read minds but literally tear them apart. He is discovered by Dr. Paul Ruth, a scientist aiming to help his kind adapt to society. Beware the scanners!
I had brief memories of a scene or two of this film from childhood, so have finally got around to (re)watching. I didn't realise / remember that Michael Ironside stars in this. Great start! Yes, this is a dated film, but I really enjoyed it for what it was. Very interesting to watch the extras, in particular the special effects. I'm now awaiting 'scanners II / III' - let's see if they stack up against the original! Recommended, if only from a nostalgia point of view.
