A Great Movie. A Mediocre Transfer
3For what it's worth, Rambo: First Blood is a classic. This steelbook edition is a beauty and comes with a second disc containing the DVD and a digital copy. The Blu-ray transfer is however disappointing, and it could have been better. The very edited documentary is also shoddy at best. That aside, this edition is for steelbook aficionados. If it's THX stuff you're looking for, then you might be disappointed.

Rambo: First Blood Ltd Edition Steelbook
4Rambo: First Blood - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook is a crude but often effective actioner whose worthwhile themes about the country's treatment of its soldiers kind of get lost in the fiery mayhem and the now-classic pose of the Rocky leading man brandishing enormous rifles and bandoliers. The problem-plagued production shot alternate endings, one in which Rambo died, another in which he didn't. Audience reaction made the filmmakers take the softer option -- and made the producers very wealthy when the film and its sequels became a hit. At least Rambo got to deliver a powerful climactic monologue (the only time he speaks at length) that puts into words the vet's feelings of anger and betrayal. And reminds us that Stallone could be a fine actor, when not caricaturing himself. Well packaged by Zavvi in an exclusive limited edition collectable steelbook, this is a catalogue title not to be missed.

Thought it was limited edition
5Purchased this great steelbook through Zavvi (where I get all my steelbooks) and as usual it arrived on time in immaculate condition. A bit confused as when I ordered it, it stated that it had a print run of 4000 but now there is no mention of that and can still be purchased?

first blood
5Definitely the best Rambo of them all, with its fare share of action and suspense but more so as the story has a true ring to it and is less fictional and in the realms of possibility allowing you to be drawn in to the character and his survival in a world that doesn't care .

4Great steel book, outter artwork is really effective. Great colour effect on inside artwork and pretty good blu ray transfer.

4For a steelbook collector and a fan of the film, I could be happier about the treatment the Rambo: First Blood - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook got. The steelbook is amazing in person, but the knife could have been embossed. The movie itself doesn't need introduction, but the picture quality is much better than the original release.
