Pain and Gain - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook (Ltd to 1000)

A Michael Bay movie that surprises by offering a mix of comedy and action through a true story. Entertainment that is rather well built, without death or decline rate time, and with a well balanced humor. An achievement that owes much to the nice interpretation of his trio of actors. A black comedy and acid that mocks the American Dream and its many excesses!

Astonishing !!!

Pain and gain was by far my favourite movie of the year. Unfortunately for me this hot steelbook sold out on zavvi within seconds despite my best efforts to watch the page .... So I had to purchase it from eBay ... The movie itself is in my opinion a fantastic flick and has been unfairly slated by some extremely narrow minded critics. Granted it is making light of a terrible real life tragedy and may cause offence to those who were involved in the true events. So from their perspective I can sympathise and I even apologise if my positive review of this movie offends anyone. However lets not forget that many parts are fictionally added and the movie is not intended to be anything more than entertainment. Being a huge fan of Mark Wahlberg , Dwayne Johnson and Michael Bay this was a must have for me. And yes I suppose that may cause me to view it through rose tinted spectacles. But I have tried to be as objective as possible and really in all honesty I love everything about this movie - the dark humour , the soundtrack and the general flow of the movie just keeps me and my simple mind entertained. In my opinion this is one of Michael bays best movies to date. Haters are always going to pick it apart and scrutinise it ... But this steelbook sold out in seconds and is already climbing in value on the secondary market - So that in my opinion speaks for itself "obviously I'm not alone" The steelbook itself is beautiful and looks fantastic in hand. A must have for collectors and fans of this movie. I'm disappointed I missed out on getting it directly from zavvi despite watching the listing like a hawk. However I got a good deal on eBay and although I payed a little over its original price I'm glad I snagged it before prices got to the level they are at now. In summary - dont listen to the critics. This is a fantastic watch with a great cast and the steelbook will not disappoint.

Please...Just don't

Pain and Gain - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook (Ltd to 1000) is a terribly offensive and grotesque film in my opinion. The film revolves around Daniel Lugo (Wahlberg), a hopeless bodybuilder-cum-psychotic murderer and kidnapper who, with two just as ridiculously stupid bodybuilders (Johnson and Mackie), kidnap and torture a rich client in the hope of him giving him all he owns. As the film progresses, the film just gets worse and just becomes more and more disgusting.
