What Blu Ray box sets should aspire to!
5I've always thought that Blu Ray box sets have always been a bit lacking. They are normally just a bare bones release of the discs in a case. No fancy Box or case and no extras like art cards etc... Things are changing though and The Lord Of The Rings box set is setting the standard. It is a really nice box set with great artwork and a solid slipcase! The films have never looked better and there is a ton of extra content and special features. The special features are all standard definition on normal DVDs which is a shame. Even if they didn't want to make the special features high definition they could have at least put it all together on 1 Blu Ray disc rather the load of DVDs to save space. Handy for people like me with ever shrinking shelf space!!! The main movies are split over two discs which is a pain but if it means we get the best possible picture and sound, than so be it! A must have for any LOTR fans!

Bargain
4For the price of 15 GPB, it is simply a bargain and a must have. I bought it mainly because of the bonus discs since I already have Extended Editions of the trilogy but still it is worth buying. One small complaint - the age allerts could have been hidden somewhere inside or at the back.

Hours of great entertainment
5An excellent box set with an exceptional number of disks The extended versions of each film provide hours of action and entertainment. Haven't delved into the extra disks which accompany each file, but they look to hold a whole range of interesting content.

took its time but worth the wait
5I'm assuming the delay of delivery was due to the high demand on this....but the wait was definitely worth it. The transfer is as crisp as anything i've seen. The battle of helms deep is so immersive and astounding. The sound is near perfect when played through a 5.1 system. we've all seen the extras before but they're still worth a look and the added bluray content just makes the overall experience perfect. Can't wait for the Hobbit box to come out now.

Lord of the Rings Bluray box set
5The set was sold at a bargain price and shipped to Germany quickly. The content on the Blurays and DVDs will keep me busy for a while :) Worth every penny :)
