Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook. Limited to 1000 Copies.
Released from prison following his mother's murder. Henry (Michael Rooker, JFK) supplements his job as an exterminator with a series of violent, indiscriminate murders. Crazed drug dealer and fellow jailbird Otis (Tom Towles) provides Henry with a willing accomplice in his grisly pursuits but as the depravity escalates and Henry begins to form a tentative bond with Otis' sister Becky (Tracy Arnold) events spiral towards a chilling and violent conclusion.
Based on the harrowing true story of convicted mass-murderer Henry Lee Lucas (portrayed with a dead-eye passivity by a magnetic rooker), John McNaughtonis (Mad Dog and Glory, Wild Things) Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer is one of the most remarkable films in the crowded serial killer genre. Impressively building to a disquieting and horrific climax, the film provides a sobering and nightmarish glimpse into a deranged and damaged mind.
A bona-fide cult classic that as well as being long unavailable is presented here for the first time in its entirety and as the director intended: it's a startling, morally complex and frequently uncompromising work of genuine daring and vision.

World Wide exclusive Bluray Steelbook
Henry - Portrait of a serial Killer is one of those movies that stay with you. Director John McNaughton (who also did the underrated "Wild Things") created a very dark atmosphere with a film that is loosely based on serial killer Henry Lee Lucas and a fictional friend of his called Otis. The people they kill are strangers and in one particularly violent and brutal instance, they slaughter a family of three. The violence is omnipresent and depressing, but not gratuitous and self-serving. The steelbook itself is a very plain affair. No fancy de- or embossing, but a solid, matter-of-fact release of a title you wouldn't expect to get a deluxe treatment. It is allegedly limited to only 1000 copies, but has been in stock for a long time anyway and the price is steadily declining. It won't be an investment or a future holy grail in your collection, but a movie that will (and already has) stand the test of time and for the price of around 12,99 it is a lot of value for your money. I can thoroughly recommend the Henry - Portrait of a serial Killer Bluray steelbook!

A portrait drawn perfectly
Finally getting a steelbook release it deserves, 'Henry' a grisly classic bought in full 1080p still remains as powerful and macabre as it did on release. Although the picture still appears grainy, and the dvd extras such as director interview are the same as on standard dvd, it still retains a respectable place on my steelbook shelf. It's one of those films where as your watching, you cant help but feel grateful that Michael Rooker (cast as henry) was selected perfectly for his role especially after learning in the director interview that he wasn't even the first or second choice for the character. And not forgetting the tom towells performance as otis who sadly passed this year. If you have not yet seen this movie, it's a definite must see amongst thriller fans and a film that definitely leaves a blood stain on your list of favourite horror films of all time.
