Dracula Prince of Darkness
I remembered this film from the last time I had seen it on tv and was absolutely stunned by the vibrancy of the colours and stability of the picture. Made back to back with Rasputin the Mad Monk, Dracula Prince of Darkness uses many of the same sets and cast. Christopher Lee returns as Dracula and manages to maintain a powerful threatening air without speaking, the man just oozes menace! As with most of the Hammer films of the time the sets and outfits are full of sumptuous colour and the BluRay transfer shows this off to full effect. The extras are all entertaining with the commentary particularly good. Well worth the money for fans of Hammer and horror films in general.

Dracula Prince of Darkness
Well, here we have it, the first big Hammer film title on blu and its a reasonable success.Despite some early bad reviews the problems appear to have been addressed on my copy.Given that Techniscope was not the best of widescreen processes, the hi-def result is as good as can be expected. I saw this film on its 1966 release and this disc is as good as its ever looked and will look,so enjoy."Plague of Zombies" and "Reptile" however should look better and are better films-can't wait!
