Doctor Who Classic Season 8 Blu-Ray - Zavvi Saves the Day!
When almost every other seller refused to ship outside the UK, Zavvi came through. This allowed me to continue collecting the Doctor Who - The Collection season sets. For those who have read disparaging rumors to the contrary, Zavvi's packaging is on-par with Amazon's and mine arrive intact in Florida in a timely manner. On to the 8-disc Blu-Ray set, itself. While the image quality of the episodes aren't really up to HD standards, these are an improvement over earlier DVD editions and are as good as we are likely to see, given the source. (It is complicated.) Where this set shines is with its extra features, including features from previous DVD's and features new to this edition. Two of the new features (on disc-8) really stand out for me. The first is an interview with Katy Manning which delves into her life in a way I would never have imagined. (Just watch it for yourself and see what I mean.) This one runs about 1h 15m. The Second is a convention presentation by John Pertwee that is by far one of the best such presentations I've ever seen. He tells stories relating to Doctor Who and other aspects of his career that are both entertaining and often very funny. It also runs more than 1-hour. I recommend the UK limited edition over the US version of this set because the packaging is nicer, it includes a booklet detailing the contents, and each disc label has different art work. If you are a fan of classic Doctor Who, then get this set - if you can.

Doctor Who the collection season-8
This Doctor Who Blu-Ray collection from the BBC is wonderful. The extras are absolutely terrific...and there are many! So... Be prepared for hours of additional viewing over and above the great stories themselves. The 1970's have never looked so good and we welcome them back with (an actual non covid related) big hug.

Doctor Who The Collection Season 8
The latest addition to this range is my favourite by far ! As usual the packaging is superb and this season is the first I saw on TV as a very young child! The quality of transfer to blu ray is excellent. Tons of special features and the box set was worth buying just for really brilliant documentary Frank Skinner put together about the late, great Terrance Dicks ! This collection is a must have for Classic Who fans !
