Amazing!

Thoroughly enjoyed this new season of Doctor Who and the steelbook artwork is just sublime!

Brand New Doctor

A beautiful cover for a great new series of Doctor Who. A taste of what's to come in the future; a lot of fun and some really clever episodes. Another great steelbook to add to the collection.

Great

I brought this Steelbook for my boyfriend and he loves it! Great gift and good service as always :)

No 4k and only 8 episodes!

No 4k is abysmal. Who wants this on bluray to get a worse picture than what was broadcast? And 60 quid for 8 eps (only a few good ones among them)?! No thanks.

Why no 4K

I have bought every season of Doctor Who right up until the last three specials. This starting as a new Season 1 has made me think... why hasn't this come out in 4K? It was broadcast on Disney+ (US) in the format and Disney have recently released Marvel & Star Wars series's in 4K... why not Doctor Who!, less episodes, lower definition, yet same price!, this is where I stop unfortunately.

Beat series since Capaldi.

Apart from the musical number in the Christmas special and the terrible first episode "Space Babies", this has been one of the best DW series in years. Millie Gibson is fantastic, and Ncuti Gatwa's energy is infectious!

Great season

Yes its a little shorter than past seasons of Who but RTD wanted to make sure he could get production going and film as much as possible. If you saw the 60th specials then you'll be aware a fantasy and superstition element has been brought in. Of the 8 episodes only the first really wasn't up to much. The elements that Russell wove through the show and kept building to the big bad reveal were brilliant. A fresh new start for the show and also a good through back to classic era. Who has not been such fun for a few years now. Yes its sort of pricey but there are many discs with lots of extras to explore. I cannot wait to rewatch it all.

Price?

I've collected Doctor Who for as long as I can remember... I haven't seen this series and some may feel I can can't judge till I do but I've seen YouTube vids that lay out these episodes and they just don't sound like Doctor Who. I was worried when RTD said he wanted to move the show into fantasy from Sci fi/horror. Having seen the 60th Specials and hearing the latest series reviews I personally decided that I could cap Doctor Who off with the 60th as a sort of ending for the Doctor. So... the fomo sets in when they announced a steelbook for this season. The couple missing from my set have skyrocketed in price on Ebay and alike that I started to feel "should I just get incase..." then I see the BBC want 60 bucks for 9 episodes on Blu Ray... this set is more expensive than the collectors editions released for the old show. I really feel this is a poor price point... especially if I were only to buy it to continue the collection. Thankfully, I guess, this price point allows me to stop, no more. The collection will likely never be complete because of series 9 which means I can more easily let this on go. The art is as lovely as ever though. Pick it up if you enjoyed the show, not because of collectors remorse, vote with your wallet and say no to this price point, it's simply way to much.
