Based on the popular video game series of the same name, DEVIL MAY CRY follows the story of a demon hunter named Dante, who is half demon himself. This unusual bloodline gives Dante the edge over other demon hunters, making him the best at what he does. Accepting only the most difficult and important jobs, Dante is hired to protect a young heiress named Patty, who is being inexplicably attacked by hoards of demons. If you are a Devil May Cry fan this is a must purchase item,bi held of on the purchase for a while as I like to watch my anime in English Dub and it was not clear if this series came with that option but it does. The anime is very stylish staying true to the format of Devil May Cry, the voice actors are superbly written and the story sets up the events from Devil May Cry 1 (we don't really acknowledge number 2 and it seems neither does Capcom) to Devil May Cry 4 connecting some of the dots we didn't know. I feel the series could have been stretched out making episodes longer, more in depth and fulfilling however no still thoroughly enjoyed the short series. I really do hope the series gets reignited with some company like Netflix really giving it a good run with the original writers/anime company as this was a great watch and deserved more Rank SSS

I lent my DVD of this series out a few years back (They say don't lend anything out if you are bothered about getting it back), so here I am replacing it! I thought, why not upgrade to the bluray since it was an absolute steal price anyway - thanks!

Devil May Cry is a great anime. Characters are well made and deep. But the strongest point is the story that links the games with this anime . And Dante is still a bad-ass.

One of the bloodiest anime I've seen ;)
I've recently bought this anime and that's what I can say: it's a most action-packed and goriest series I've ever seen with an addition of humour. Witch actually is exactly as it should be. For all the fans of Devil May Cry it is a must-watch title. And now it is in HD! Series is composed of short (about 25min long), separate episodes that tell the story about this most-known demon hunter and his friends/enemies. Watching them was a lot of fun for me so I can recommend this series with all my heart!
