Johnny Depp takes us on a kind of Trip...
5This film I absolutely believe is not for everyone. Its a film that passes over to the viewer a limitless pallet of colours even though it is conveyed to us in one colour...What I mean by limitless is that it keeps you balancing, it keeps you wandering whether he is in Purgatorio/Purgatory, what is real what is not. It's a new take lets say on HOMER'S Odyssey (That lives on eternal). I loved it then & I do now. The steelbook is as it should be, if you take a closer look at Depp's face it's actually seen through a braves silhouette (Red Indian) which is great, & on the back I love the simplicity of one of the deck of cards & the title snuck nice & neatly into the card itself. Nice one Zavvi. An excellent steelbook.

Dead Man Steelbook
5Dead Man won't be everyone's cup of tea, for sure, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Lots of notable actors and an interesting storyline.

embossing would have been stunning
4nice steel with solid artwork, could have used one that matches the mood of the great story better though

5If you're a steelbook collector then you will want to buy this one.The design is glossy & gorgeous, it is subtle, simple & understated. The film is a delight. It is very original, very unusual & very funny. It is beautifully shot in black & white & has a wonderful haunting score. A perfect steelbook for an unusual & at times beautiful film.

Dead Man Steelbook
5All Jim Jarmusch films are worth watching. Dead Man is perhaps his best work. A period mystical road trip through a morbid dreamlike Western frontier psyche. Johnny Depp's character William Blake searches for his authentic self amidst the wasteland left by the white outward urge. Great cast, characters, photography, humour and philosophical depth.

5Hands down my favourite film of all time. An absolute work of art from Jim Jarmusch. Johnny Depp is superb as William Blake and Gary Farmer is fantastic as Nobody. Pre-ordered as soon as I opened the email from Zavvi. Could have been better artwork choices for the steelbook, it doesn't portray the spirit of the film very well, but I love the film too much to care and don't have it on Blu-ray. The soundtrack is by Neil Young and is amazing, hence why I have the CD and I can play it on guitar. I first saw Dead Man well over 10 years ago on TV and I have loved it ever since. Personally, nothing has, or probably ever will, come close to bettering it. For me it's like the life story of my heart, mind and soul. Simply, it is poetry in motion.
