'When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth.'
With the U.S. in the grip of a zombie apocalypse, four desperate survivors find refuge in a shopping mall. But the flesh-eating hordes, still possessed by an instinctive desire to consume, are drawn to the same destination. What follows is a nail-biting fight for survival.

Dawn of the Dead - Limited edition 4K Ultra HD box set.
When Second Sight Films revealed that they are going to release Dawn of the Dead in glorious 4K, I knew I had to get that release. Dawn of the Dead is a classic and I was curious to see what it would look like in the best picture quality available. I'm happy to inform that the release delivers, and then some. What you get in this one release are three cuts of the film, theatrical, Cannes and Argento cut. There are a bunch of special features on a seperate bluray disc also, among them are documentaries, commentary tracks, interviews, trailers and tv-spots. Some of the special features are familiar from previous releases, but there are a couple new ones as well, including commentary tracks and interviews. Picture quality is fantasticly sharp, only Argento cut is slightly inferior compared to the two other cuts. I did not detect any problems on the audio tracks, but I have seen reviews that say that the dialogue is muddled in parts of the Cannes cut. I only wish that a fourth cut, the unofficial mall hours cut, would've been included in the release. I live in Finland and Zavvi delivered this release quickly and in perfect shape. It truly is release of the year contender, for sure. If you love Dawn of the Dead, this is a must buy for you.

The last edition of truly great movie
This is the last edition you'll ever need of this great, great horror classic, trust me. You get three versions of the movie in 4K gloriousness, so crispy and beautiful, absolutely crystal clear and no specks. I've never seen this movie look so good (and I've seen many versions). 3 discs with the soundtrack, the novelization and a hardcover book full of trivia and tidbits - a real treat for any Dawn fan. The packaging is quite good, so all in all, I can't find any faults in this set - 5 stars all around.

DOTD: The Ultimate Set
A beautiful box set that was very well packaged by the team from Zavvi. I recommend the Argento cut which has a faster pace and is more focused on the horror and action. Just started the lengthy special features and the two books looks great. Highly recommended for any fans.

Best of the best?
For many, myself included, Dawn of the Dead is one of the greatest horror movies ever made. As an allegory for the inherent absurdity of consumerism, it remains timeless, but more than that, this film reminds us of that which we truly fear. Ourselves. So it's with great satisfaction that I reccomend this box set. The 4K restoration is, stunning and yes, it's welll worth watching the various cuts. The set is also crammed full of goodies: the iconic Goblin score, the novelization and a book of essays and photos you won't want to put down. All in all this is the definitive edition of one of cinemas most defining moments. Five stars? Oh yes.
