Das Boot
Das Boot is a great anti-war movie, It shows the futility and pointlessness of war, the tragic loss of life, the mistaken ideology of patriotism. A film portraying the harsh cruel and brutal facts of armed conflict. Well made and pulling no punches a vivid testament of mans cruelty to man.

Das Boot
I purchased this disc having partly watched the original series when it was first shown in the eighties.I am the type of person who finds movies last too long and tend to watch a film in stages, however I watched this film (all three and a half hours of it) all the way through with only an occasional pause for coffee. I will not go into the storyline as you probably are familiar with it. I really cannot recommend this disc highly enough it is a gripping tale from start to finish, I could not help but empathise with these german submariners. If I was nitpicking I could say the picture quality is a little grainy at times but this does not detract from what is truly a cinematic masterpiece. For anyone with even the slightest interest in films of this ilk buy this I am sure you will not be disappointed.
