Dare you say his name five times? From the chilling imagination of horror master Clive Barker
(Hellraiser, Nightbreed), comes Candyman – one of the greatest horror movies of the ’90s, now
restored on Blu-ray from Arrow Video.
When grad student Helen Lyle (Virginia Madsen) begins working on a thesis about urban legends,
she comes across the terrifying tale of the Candyman – a vengeful, hook handed spirit who can be
summoned by saying his name five times in the mirror. As her research leads her into the bowels of
Chicago’s deprived housing projects and deeper into the Candyman’s world, Helen learns that some
legends are best left alone.
Expertly directed by British filmmaker Bernard Rose (Paperhouse) and boasting an astounding score
by composer Philip Glass, Candyman ingeniously reworks Clive Barker’s original short story “The
Forbidden” (originally published as part of his groundbreaking Books of Blood series) into a modern
horror parable that remains as timely today as ever.

A horror movie classic
This steel book is an absolute must buy if you are a huge candyman fan like myself. The steel book itself is awesome with a cool little candyman newspaper booklet inside the case. I docked a star because the outer sleeve for the steel case is a really cheap material which was ripped on arrival & is overall poorly designed. With this being said, the steelbook itself is super awesome and I would totally recommend to horror movie collectors like myself…

Candyman
I've been collecting steelbooks for only a short time but have accumulated some really awesome case's. Candyman is one of my aml tome favourite horrors a d to have a copy of the movie in the steelbook it came with is just jaw dropping. I'm so pleased I found out about Zavvi. My only scare is if a steelbook ever turns up damaged. Please make sure you send them in mint condition with decent packaging to avoid damage. It's not a lot to ask.

90s Horror Classic
Well worth a watch of the original 90’s film ahead of Jordan Peele’s sequel that’s due to come out this year. After all the slasher films of the 80s, where the killers stalk people through white suburbia, Candyman takes a different direction with the antagonist and environment in the Chicago housing projects

Classic horror presented in a great format
I love a steelbook and what's better than a steelbook of such a good horror film. I remember back in the 90's school days that this film had a sense of mystery abou it like an urban legend, kids daring each other to say 'Candyman' in the mirror. To this day I have never done it and never will. The steelbook itself is lovely with crisp art, and the restoration of the film is extremely nice. With the reboot/sequel on the way there's no better time to pick up this classic horror for a rewatch.
